Collected Teachings of Ngawang Kunga Lodro NKL129: The Light of Auspiciousness, a Straight Line of Sixty Mantrayana and Bon Doctrines. The Light of Auspiciousness, a Straight Line of Sixty Mantrayana and Bon Doctrines. Svasti! The incarnate body of all Buddhas of the three times, the kind one who appears as desired at the end of time, who works for the benefit of beings not just at one time, I bow to the great mantra holder who sees all three times. Here, regarding the precepts for the sixty root Mantrayana and Bon practitioners: In the future, in order to improve the discipline and conduct of the Sangha of the northern and southern colleges of our great and glorious Sakya monastery, I have revised the detailed precepts separately. At the same time, you also need to gather some Sangha and followers for tea gatherings and Cham dance services. Since the past, there have been only bad examples without beginning or end. Therefore, considering that the government officials will also specifically instruct that the tea tax should be deducted separately, there is a concern that your tradition of tea gatherings may decline. In particular, the Mantra Holder Chögyal Phagpa (chos kyi rgyal po, 法王) has been very kind to the sixty root and Mantrayana, but according to the great precepts of that protector's temple: 'Nuns of Mantrayana and Bon should also have their own appropriate attire, and those under the age of fifteen should be sent to remote places without mixing with the Sangha. Do not allow them to wear the official clothes of lay people or the Pembar hats of lay practitioners.' This clearly describes the attire of the nuns of Mantrayana and Bon. Also, in the same precepts, it is said that 'Those who come from Dentrö Monastery should follow the precepts of the Mantrayana monastery.' This mainly refers to Dechen Lingpa, and also to the precepts of Serkhyimpa sixty root practitioners. Therefore, even now, from my side, it does not contradict the intentions of the previous Lamas, and it serves the northern and southern colleges, and it is very kind to the people. It would be wonderful if all the subjects of the Sakya government could be rich and prosperous, and obtain temporary and ultimate benefit. However, if these two laws are not strong, it seems like an obstacle to my brother. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
