Homage to the glorious Samantabhadra! The illusion of appearance is not mistaken for wisdom. Clearly showing the lotus feet, I prostrate. From impurity, the realm of purity arises. In the beginning, the basis of liberation arises. Listen to the explanation! In general, when the initial basis arises as five lights, and one wanders in samsara by grasping it as self, in the initial state, reciting (mantra to be added) and gazing at the sound of the clear light of wisdom, the instruction of primordial liberation, the Dakini Heart Drop, the instruction of manifest clear light, has been taught. It is only necessary to constantly strive to practice it. However, if the eye consciousness is very poor and there is no ability to look at it, or during a break for rest, or in a state of blindness, how should one practice? Here, one should practice according to the introduction of the common Sutra. Just as the initial basis appears as five lights, the five elements are also the appearance of coarse light, but in essence there is no good or bad. By looking at the light in the sky, the arising of mind and feeling is purified in the state, and just as the lamp of self-arising wisdom appears within, by focusing on the appearance of the five elements, when there is no grasping there, the lamp of self-arising wisdom spontaneously arises, and there is no difference. Since there is no grasping in just the lamp of self-arising wisdom, liberation arises in the primordial basis, and both are the same as they are. Light and illusion are equal in the sound of awareness. Introducing it with the instruction of vast non-partisanship, leave it as it appears! In the unmade, equal king, clear light without acceptance or rejection arises from within. In the primordial state, it is spontaneously accomplished now. Also, on the clear surfaces of earth, water, fire, wind, and sky, focus without moving the eyes, without thinking of anything in the mind, and without cutting off anything. The bliss-clear non-conceptuality of wisdom without contraction or expansion arises from within, and the essence of meditation is the basis of liberation, leaving it as it is. Also, with the five elements, do not think, "I am the five elements." Without thinking that beings depend on us, in clarity without grasping, constantly abide in a state without acceptance or rejection and without hope or fear.

Nadu! The self-originated mind-essence, too, should be kept constantly without distraction in a state free from artificiality and hope and fear. At that time, appearances of form, appearances of sound, appearances of smell, appearances of taste, appearances of touch—whatever they may be—relax and release them in their own place. By keeping them in that state, other thoughts will gather there. And because there is no grasping or clinging to just that, one arrives at the unadulterated moment of the primordial ground. Furthermore, the mind-essence without acceptance or rejection is the primordial ground. From that state, the appearance of the five elements or the objects of the six aggregates arises as the ground-appearance. To remain in that state without artificiality is to remain in the ground's suchness. To be liberated without grasping in that state is to arrive at the primordial ground. To abide in that state without acceptance or rejection, or expansion or contraction, is to be unmoving from the ground, the nature of the spontaneously accomplished great perfection of the three kayas, called the heart of the spontaneously accomplished precious treasure. This is to be combined with the common vehicle. From beginningless time, the essence of meaning, the mind-essence, is naturally pure, the perfection of wisdom. The reality of meaning, the Middle Way, is the primordial ground. The initial coemergent ignorance and imputation are the causes and conditions of samsara. By generating the delusion of subject and object, and being deluded separately in the three realms, one is deluded in the six realms by not recognizing the ground itself and clinging to light. As an antidote to delusion, the reality of phenomena, although appearing without delusion, is like an image, and because the power of habit is strengthened, all appearances are relative truth. Because it is not established in reality, by meditating on the reality of emptiness, in which all identities are empty, like space, one is liberated in the primordial ground. Because the three kayas are inseparable, just as one performs the benefit of beings, as an antidote to the deluded objects of the five lights, and the appearances of bodies and minds, which are without existence, by looking at the light-appearance, all substantial delusions are self-reverting, relative truth is purified, and un-deluded wisdom, having reached the ground, one should view it as being equal to the activity of benefiting beings, in which the three kayas are inseparable. In general, all dharmas are in harmony, but the key lies in the difference. If one meditates here, even though it is unborn, it is still a mental image. There is no is in the view, no is not in the meditation, no acceptance or rejection in the conduct, and no hope or fear in the result.
