༄༅། །The biography of Lama Gyalwa Zhang Chenpo is here. From the inexpressible emptiness, the radiant Gyalwa Longchen Rabjampa, the Lama who holds the lineage of compassion, I respectfully prostrate to the supreme Lama. This Lama Gyalwa Zhang Chenpo, in Yarlung Gang's meditation island, Nine Lhado, the son of father Zhang Sa Dorje Dondrup and mother Xiumo Nyeré Jang, named Tashi Dorje, whose name is difficult to pronounce, was born in the Fire Female Ox year. Until the age of eleven, he stayed with his mother, after which, because his mother hated him, he was taken to a nun Ajo for a long time. When he met Lama Lhegom Nagpo, the Lama rejoiced and said, 'This is an emanation of the Buddha who has come, please offer him to me.' So he stayed in his presence for a year. After that, he was born like a vast ocean of Dharma, with the lotus of wisdom blooming. He listened to the Vinaya, Sutra, and Pramana, and relied on thirteen Lamas who were proficient in the new and old tantras and had attained excellent accomplishments, and his wisdom was vast. Until the age of twenty-one, he engaged in listening, contemplation, and meditation. Later, when he was living in Nyangto Nakhu, at dawn, he heard a loud noise. He got up and looked, and in the midst of the sky filled with rainbows and light, heroes and heroines, as well as Avalokiteśvara and Tara, and the Lamas of the past prophesied, 'Kye ema! The secret instruction for attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body, the supreme secret of the Great Perfection, is with the one who is like a rock lion. Go there and do immeasurable benefit to sentient beings! The Dharma of meeting and liberation is truly amazing!' After saying this, they disappeared. At the age of eighteen, he said that he did not truly understand the prophecy. After thinking about it that night, a person wearing a white hat said, 'Dondrup (accomplishment) bestows, please go!' The next morning at dawn, he also said, 'Please go!' So he left. It is said that they drank a lot of chang (barley beer), and also gave many Dharma talks, feeling content with their wisdom and learning. Then, as the sun rose, they went to Khar, and just as they didn't know the way, a white-hatted layman led the way again. After arriving at Stag Thabs, they slept in an empty house one night. He said, "Don't stay here, leave now." As soon as they left the door, the empty house collapsed. That night there was heavy rain, and they stayed in a rock cave. At night, his emanation brought a lot of food. Then, the next morning, they crossed Ra Lag Tshugs, and although there was a butter battle in O Yug Da, his emanation fearlessly crossed U Yug. During the day, they became very hungry, and all the woodcutters gave them food. They continued on and arrived at a rock that looked like a lion. He got lost and couldn't be found. He looked everywhere with his eyes but couldn't find him. Unable to stay outside, he looked at the signpost and found a door with good grass growing. He struck it with the sharp cinnabar in his hand, and a "khrol gyi" sound came from inside. After entering, he found a mandala in the center of the rock cave, and in the center of the mandala, a sun was rising. He dug with the sharp cinnabar and found snakes and frogs inside, which he removed one by one and lifted to the top. He thought to himself, "I am proficient in Dharma, it would be nice if I could get some wealth." Then, 108 signposts appeared, and he was very happy and danced. Then, he tied it up with a rope and looked at a cave in the valley. It was dark and he couldn't see anything. Then, another layman came with a butter lamp and food, saying he wanted to look at the book. At this time, a very terrifying sound came from the door. He said, "Sister has not recognized that this is the emanation of the prophecy." I said, "I will bring sister here." After a while, the sound was very terrifying, and it felt like the cave was collapsing. When he looked up, there was something at the door with eyes as big as copper basins, a mouth boiling with blood, bared fangs, and was very terrifying. He was frightened and thought, "What will happen if I encounter this?" He also remembered that the previous prophecy said that sister had not recognized it. Then, from its mouth, it said, "I am Ekajati. Offer one hundred and eight tsogkhor (assembly wheels). Do not within three years..."
