This great secret instruction, Except for a fortunate heart-son, Not to senseless beings without transmission, Even in the direction of wind and hail, Do not proclaim it, heart-son. The four kinds of great secret instructions, Not shown to anyone, are the treasure of the heart. Again, the essence of the secret is condensed, two letters, white and red, No one dares to even speak their names. Showing that the names are the same, but the difference in meaning is great. These secret heart-essence drops, Are not written in the table of contents. Therefore, this secret table of contents, Is not something that anyone can see. Therefore, this heart-like instruction, In the depths of the forest or in a deserted charnel ground, Dwelling alone without companions, to this, Practicing, the fruit of accomplishment is true. This secret is the key to the great bliss secret, There is no other, this having extracted the essence, The footprints of the Buddhas who have passed away, This having measured it within oneself, Without leaving it in the lama's mouth, The meaning of the words is clearly written in letters. Not relying on self-awareness and the two causes, Because it is not the domain of wisdom, Without sharpness or dullness in the faculties themselves, If one sees this, understands the meaning, and practices, Then, the fruit of all secret mantras, Will be obtained, there is no doubt about this. Therefore, the key to the definite secret, There is no need to explain and point out, it is very amazing. True wisdom cannot be understood by words, This directly perceived self-essence key is very amazing. That which is beyond expression, Its meaning cannot be found by others' explanations, It is most wondrous that it arises from one's own key point. The great secret that no one has found, Because it is superior to all common vehicles, It is most wondrous that the definitive meaning is spoken. The guru's instructions do not depend on external circumstances, But accord with the key points of one's own perception and senses, That realm never before seen, Without needing practice or training, instantly, In the realm of emptiness, it arises as superior seeing. For a person without pure or impure karma, When it is seen directly, There should be no doubt. Therefore, this great secret method, Even those buddhas endowed with compassion, Cannot express this heart essence. Therefore, all the buddhas, Having perfected the four empowerments for Vajradhara, And empowered him with the power over the supreme secret, Apart from expressing his own secret meaning, It is impossible for others to speak and teach it. Therefore, this great method, the essence of the heart, Should be kept utterly secret. Samaya (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音, Oath). The size of the paper and the lineage of the letters, And the container, are all written in secret script.
