In particular, a copper plate document, vowing to uphold the practice as long as the royal lineage endures, was presented before the deity Taleju, a special form of the principal deity held as dear as life by successive kings. En route, efforts were made to conduct 'Tor Tsho' (offering ceremonies) at the established monasteries. Arriving in Mangyul (present-day Gugge area in Ngari Prefecture) during the waxing phase of Saga Dawa (the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar), the companions suffered from dropsy. Moreover, the endeavor undertaken was for the benefit of the Dharma and all beings. Due to the pressing circumstances, some friends were unwilling to proceed further due to the long distance, and many mules carrying supplies fell ill. Despite enduring mental hardships, one was not swayed by external influences. Together with one's own monk attendant and a Ladakhi messenger, a stern letter was dispatched to both kings, ordering an immediate cessation of hostilities in the name of the king, and detailing the reasons why war should not be waged. Those who could not proceed further due to illness were provided with sustenance and placed in suitable locations, while some were sent to Kham (eastern Tibet). Myself, with a small retinue, like a servant, embarked on the journey to Chu-she (Kullu). Upon arriving in Chu-she, officials and teachers from Mukund Kshetra came to greet us, and meetings were held with the inner minister of Jumla Raja and the closely related Dasa. The reason for these meetings was that this time not only was there a delay, but there was also reluctance to go, but it was agreed. However, he seemed to harbor animosity towards the armies in Upper and Lower Ngari (Ngari Korsum). If the troops could be demobilized for some months this summer, it would be beneficial to some sentient beings to prevent this year's war. Therefore, to the ministers, I offered the best gifts I could afford, and under the guise of being able to meet again in the future, I extended a detailed explanation of the situation in a polite manner. Thereafter, although efforts were made to care for the sick companions, even with the best efforts, it was not possible to speed up the pace. Before the snow mountain, the welcoming parties sent by both kings had also arrived. Due to the general merit of the Land of Snows (Tibet) and the compassion of the supreme Gyalwa Rinpoche (Dalai Lama), I was able to proceed smoothly. This year, an unprecedented amount of snow fell.
