Furthermore, the benefits and dangers are great, like a venomous snake and a jewel. For this key point, it is essential to cherish it with great skill. However, nowadays, virtuous individuals are as rare as stars in the daytime. It is said that they consider work as a method of practice. Walking among crowds, looking at and riding women, the attachment and desire in their hearts become even stronger than before. Such behaviors are seen quite often these days. If the key point of practice is truly hit, then all external appearances will arise as bliss. Attachment, clinging, and conceptual thoughts will arise as self-liberated. That is a sign that the method has hit the key point. In general, if there is no certainty in one's view, then most actions will go down the worldly path. If the key instructions are not integrated into one's being, then most methods will become the cause of samsara. In general, without deliberately abandoning or pursuing, it is crucial to take whatever arises as the path. Train yourself to be free from all clinging and abide in the state of illusion. This is the key point of practice, keep it in mind. In general, be mindful of body, speech, and mind. Outwardly, guide the faith of those to be tamed. Inwardly, digest the wealth of faith and food. Secretly, adorn yourself with the teachings and the three methods of benefiting others. Always keep these in mind and practice them. I have briefly spoken these key instructions. Please keep them deeply in your heart and practice them accordingly. This was spoken in Zawok, east of Kyungdzong Karmo in Mangyul Gungthang (ancient place name, approximately 11th-17th century AD), the sacred place where Jetsun Milarepa and Rechungpa first met, by Dokham Katok Tsewang Norbu, at the request of his disciple, Orgyen Kunsang Choying Palbar, a practitioner from Kyirong (present-day Kyirong County, Tibet), on the morning of the eighteenth day of the Sagittarius month (Tibetan November) of the Fire Sheep year (1967), as remembered.
