Rewards and the enjoyment of the five desires, like sunlight obscured by clouds, are obscured by ignorance and diminished capacity for enjoyment. Consciousness cannot remain clear, and one wanders deeply in a state of extreme confusion, forced to experience suffering. Root Verse: The pool of gathering, endowed with balanced nature, if disturbed by turbid sensations of illness, the clinging to the five aggregates becomes exhausted, fearing the loss of stability in life, one becomes afraid. This means that for all sentient beings, when the nature of wind, bile, phlegm, etc., remains balanced, if the pool of gathering is disturbed by turbid sensations of illness, the coarse feeling of pain exhausts the clinging to each of the five aggregates—form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness—and due to suffering, one loses the stability of life and fears death. Root Verse: In this existence, the value of life has no end, but due to the suffering of death, those who are completely touched, relatives, friends, and enjoyments, surpass everything and go to a place without footing. This means that although the value of life in this world has no end, those who are confronted by the suffering of death, those who are about to die, will inevitably surpass all relatives, companions, and enjoyments, and go to a place without footing. Or, Root Verse: The suffering of encountering unpleasant circumstances, the messengers torment and degrade extremely, like a rest where the resting place collapses, unable to catch one's breath, it is even more dangerous. This means that the messengers of the suffering of encountering unpleasant circumstances, such as enemies, i.e., the state of being extremely tormented and degraded by misconduct, are like someone exhausted by a heavy burden who, after resting temporarily at a resting place, is unable to catch their breath and is even more dangerous. Root Verse: The separation of love and suffering, a novel arrangement, the asceticism weakened by grief transformed into form, becoming a slave to the wealth, the good Gandharva woman, the path is covered by harm, the end of karma is long. This means that someone who is separated from a beloved friend feels sorrow upon remembering their qualities, actions, and demeanor, just as when the young man Norzang was separated from the Gandharva woman, it was more difficult than traversing a path filled with harm, and the end of karma was even longer. This is his story.

Also, it is recorded in the Wish-Fulfilling Tree: In the past, in a place called Five Acquisitions, the master of the Elephant City, a king named Norjen, had no son. He prayed to the worldly gods, and as a result, a son was born. He carefully raised this son and named him Norsang. Norsang became proficient in worldly codes and all cultural knowledge, and lived with three wives. Once, a hunter named Bangleb went to another mountain to hunt, and in a place lush with leaves, sprouts, flowers, and fruits, he saw a hermit practicing asceticism. He prostrated to him and asked: How long have you been here? The hermit said: Forty years. The hunter asked: Have you seen any wonderful things during your long stay here? The hermit said to the hunter: Have you seen that lake? The hunter said he had. The hermit said: This is called the Brahma Gathering Pond, where there are all kinds of flowers, all kinds of water birds, and many fragrant flowers surrounding this pond. On the fifteenth of each month, a king of humans or non-humans, the daughter of a tree, an enchanting woman, surrounded by five hundred women, comes here to perform various bathing and massages, and entertains with various songs, dances, and music. Hearing these sounds, I feel very happy and joyful, and can spend seven days. I have seen such wonderful things. The hunter thought, I should use the meaningful rope I obtained from the dragon to catch the enchanting woman. When the fifteenth day arrived, he approached the lake, hid, and waited. Soon, the enchanting woman came with her entourage and began to bathe. The hunter immediately caught her with the meaningful rope, and the entourage all fled. The enchanting woman said to the hunter: Base man, do not touch me! The hunter, fearing she would escape, untied the jewel from the top of her head and gave it to the hunter. At that time, the young Norsang also came there to hunt, and they met. The hunter thought, this girl is suitable for this young man, so he offered her to Norsang. The young man carefully observed and found that she was free from all the faults of women and possessed all the virtues.

Having understood this matter, he took the charming woman with her ornaments and went to the city of the elephant house, where he enjoyed pleasure and resided in a palace on top of the royal palace. At that time, two Brahmins came as travelers, one attached to the king and the other to Norsang. They were allowed to recite in front of the king, and were also given a share of enjoyment. The prince gave only a share of enjoyment, and that person said, 'Young man, when you ascend the throne, what will you do for me?' The prince said, 'In that case, it will be just as my father does for your friend.' When the reciter in front of the father king heard this, he became jealous and thought of a way to prevent the young man from obtaining the throne. He thought that there was a robber named Rivorva in another place who was causing harm to that place, and that in order to destroy him, if a large army was sent and a way was found to make the prince also the commander of the army, then he would not be able to return. So he cunningly reported this to the king, and the king said, 'Let it be done.' So he summoned the young man and instructed him in this way, and he also agreed. When he was about to leave, he remembered the charming woman, met her briefly, and entrusted the jewel from her headdress to the prince's mother, saying, 'If the charming woman is in danger of her life, give this to her, otherwise do not give it.' Having said this, he led the four divisions of the army and set out. Due to the power of the prince's merit, the Great King Vaishravana vowed to help him, and instructed the five leaders of the yakshas, 'Lead your army to attack Rivorva.' As instructed, those people were subdued, officials were appointed, taxes were collected, prisoners were captured, and when the army returned, King Norchen dreamed that a vulture came and tore open the king's stomach, pulled out his intestines, and flew around the city, and also dreamed that the seven treasures filled the house. So the king was very frightened and terrified, and told the Brahmin reciter about this, who said, 'This dream must be a sign of losing the kingdom or of interrupting life.' The king asked, 'Is there a way to avoid it?' The Brahmin said, 'Whether it can be avoided or not, I do not know.'

They said with false deceptive words, "If non-human fat is burned, the king will be freed from disaster." The king did as instructed, and when everything else was ready, they summoned the enchanting woman to be killed for the sake of obtaining non-human fat. The young man entrusted the crest jewel to the enchanting woman, telling her to flee. She immediately flew into the sky and fled, going to the previous Brahmin, saying, "Because you guided me, I fell into the hands of others, but I managed to escape with my life. If the young Norzang comes after me, give him this ring and tell him that following me is difficult, so do not try. If you cannot stop him, repeat these words." Having said this, the Brahmin departed. Afterwards, when the young man returned to his country, he heard the news that the enchanting woman had fled, and searched everywhere. The Brahmin gave him the ring, saying, "If she comes, tell her that the road is difficult and persuade her to return. If she insists on not returning, repeat these words." The Brahmin recited, "In the snowy mountains, the king of mountains, there is a medicine called 'dripping milk,' if you make it into butter and drink it, you will not feel thirsty or hungry, and your memory and strength will increase. You will also need a monkey. Learn secret mantras. Bow and arrow, and. A luminous jewel. Antidote medicine. Three iron pegs. A lute, all must be carried." And, for the various dangers of the perilous road, he recounted the teachings of what is needed. Afterwards, the young man, not listening to the Brahmin's dissuasion, took the equipment taught by the enchanting woman, and gradually traversed the path, passing through mountains and rivers, caves and cliffs, and all dangerous places, overcoming them with medicine and secret mantras, and the combination of antidote medicine, approaching the city of the non-human king. There, at a bathing pond adorned with auspiciousness, non-human women came to fetch water. The young man asked them what they were doing with so much water, and they said it was for the enchanting woman's bath. The young man inconspicuously placed the previous ring into a water jug, telling them, "Bathe with this water jug first." They also thought there must be a reason for it, so they bathed with it, and before long the ring fell out, shining brightly, and they took the water.
