May the fruits of temporary and ultimate goals be manifestly achieved. Here it is said: Those few phrases of small meaning, which are completely imputed by a mind with obscurations, if well explained by the wise, will have thousands of wonders. If it can become a place for grasping all at once, then, from the realm of phenomena of the unobscured wisdom eye, from the wisdom space that directly sees as it is, from the nectar garland of the profound meaning of the Vajra speech, which effortlessly manifests in the minds of the fortunate ones, although it is impossible to be tainted by the childish mind's discriminatory additions and subtractions, yet for the fortunate ones who approach with faith, it will show a dance of following guidance as desired. Therefore, these words as expressions, although they can represent all the doctrines of the Sutras and Tantras, yet, how these words represent these doctrines, wonders of this kind, what to say of someone like me, even Bodhisattvas cannot do it. Some shallow people who are ignorant of the profound places, regarding the verbal images that abandon the excellent form of profound meaning, say: There is nothing profound and difficult to understand, and they do not even praise the profound and vast Vajra speech. In the clear water reservoir of wonderful wisdom, when the starlight of faith appears bright, one sees that the wonderful Vajra words are a moon that is particularly superior to other words. Thus, with the profound meaning as an example of an underground treasure, from the prayer that is constantly heard in the mouth, from the vow seal of the collection of names, words, and letters, I have found the secret of the self-born mind. In the center of the heart, in the immaculate bindu of awareness, the glorious complete Buddha Padmasambhava, by meditating on Manjushri Wisdom Hero, received the lineage of blessings. Therefore, by introducing these principles into the path of names, words, and letters, by propagating this White Lotus Commentary, may the wisdom that plays in the mind-city of all beings, directly see the self-born Lotus King. May I and all those connected to this, be cared for by Padmasambhava in all lifetimes, may hearing, thinking, and meditating be accomplished without obstacles, and may the two benefits of self and others be spontaneously accomplished. May the general Buddha Dharma and the inner Tantra Yoga three sections, especially the precious doctrine of the Clear Light Vajra Essence, spread rapidly in the ten directions, may all beings be happy and joyful, and may the wealth of Dharma rapidly increase. Thus, this is called "The White Lotus Commentary on the Seven-Line Vajra Prayer," according to the outer appearance.

This has the three characteristics of clear and easy-to-understand words and phrases that bloom like petals, an inner meaning as sweet as hidden honey, and the fragrance of the supreme blessing of practice. Previously, when I was twenty-five years old, in the Iron Horse year, in the sixth Tibetan month, near the king of Dzogchen, prompted by some circumstance, I immediately wrote down the hidden meanings as they appeared in my mind, completing it on the fifteenth of that month. Later, the reincarnation, the precious Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, and others gave words of praise. However, due to my writing habits from when I was young, I felt that some of the words were cumbersome and wanted to modify them slightly, so I put it aside. Later, even though I did not obtain the original manuscript, for a long time, someone who had respectfully regarded me as a lama and served me without pretense, with supreme faith in Guru Rinpoche, named Nyerne Sherab Osel, prayed with thirteen million repetitions of the Seven-Line Prayer and vowed to recite it again. Through his own efforts, he also found the original manuscript. And he said to me that the commentary on the Seven-Line Prayer had been meticulously revised and completed, and that it needed to have the characteristics and essential points of outer, inner, and secret aspects. Therefore, while offering gifts, he repeatedly and earnestly requested. Therefore, for the sake of the initiators and others who have faith in Guru Rinpoche, and for the sentient beings of the degenerate age, with a compassionate mind, I generated the effort to overcome illness. I condensed the meaning of the previous cumbersome words, added many unprecedented characteristics, making it even more excellent and beautiful than before. In the auspicious sixth Tibetan month of the Expanding Iron Ox year, in the chambers of the great monastery Dzogchen Shri Singha, which proclaims the Dharma sound of the Three Vehicles, Mipham Namgyal completed this work well. May those who connect with this practice be born in the Lotus Light Pure Land, and may this commentary bring vast benefits to the Dharma and sentient beings, without interruption. May it be virtuous! May there be auspiciousness! Again, on the 14th day of the 7th month of the Iron Dog year, at the 6th hour, the 21 auspicious aspects were perfectly completed. May auspiciousness increase! Om Svasti! The five kayas spontaneously accomplished, the wisdom Vajra holder, Without birth or death, the true Buddha of meaning, Connecting with him is meaningful, Orgyen Vajradhara, Inseparable, may he always reside as an ornament in the Brahma abode. From the blessings of Padma, the peaceful Vajra, From the expanse of awareness and emptiness, the essence of the Dharma treasury, Jamgön Lama lovingly bestowed it upon me, Filling three thousand worlds with gold is not a worthy example. Therefore, the precious Early Translation lineage, May the teachers and upholders of the teachings, the noble ones, be pleased and satisfied. From Dilgo Khyentse Tashi Paljor, A wondrous and great miraculous printing press was created. From this arises the immaculate and excellent virtue, May the intentions of the glorious Lama be completely fulfilled, May the essence teachings not diminish and spread to the end of existence, May all beings pervading space find rest in the primordial ground. May the supreme Lama and the inseparable Lotus-born Lord, Always reside in the lotus of faith in the center of my heart, Seize the stronghold of the intention of the Vajra Peak, May I attain mastery over the kingdom of the four bodies in this life.
