These are the seeds of the four continents below, and because the king among humans has four castes, they are called the Four Great Kings. They are the beings of the deva realm among the six realms of beings. They are called devas because they are beautiful and possess light, hence they are called devas. Since all three realms have devas, it arises from the previous efforts of body, speech, and mind. Then, after that, merit also gradually decreases, and the light of the body, etc., also becomes closer and closer. Lifespan also gradually decreases. In the desire realm, four myriads of yojanas below the higher ground, in the place called Tushita Heap, there is no appearance of the sun and moon, etc., only self-appearance. All appearances are adorned with extremely beautiful lotuses, and two sons of the gods fall, appearing from the lotus in the manner of miraculous birth. By the merit of the light from above, the appearance of light is extremely bright, and they enjoy it. The minds of those two are shaken, and thus some miraculously born sons of the gods propagate. They also only enjoy being happy to see and the well-being of beings. If those beings walk, they walk in the sky, because they are born from the upper deva realm. If they dwell, they also dwell in the sky, because the body is born from light. Then, those beings merge into their own light, and eat happiness and bliss as food, which comes from enjoying food and clothing from above. Even wanting to walk, they arrive just by thinking, which comes from the samadhi of the above. Life is also immeasurable. There is no manifestation of afflictions, they only abide in happiness. Here, to subdue those beings, the sixth teacher, Vajradhara, especially from the emptiness of action, from that place appears an extremely beautiful lotus with a thousand petals.

Sometimes, relying on the light of the upper realm, they appeared transparent, and because there was no cause for manifest afflictions such as desire, they possessed five senses and limbs that were extremely beautiful, but the organs of male and female had not yet emerged. When looking at the teachings with the eyes of omniscience, the root of all teachings, called 'Great Sound Change,' appeared. At that time, sixty-four trillion stars of light and seventeen rays of light appeared in the sky. Then, beings also increased greatly, life spans gradually decreased, and the light of the body and so on also disappeared, and merit also decreased. Due to the power of previous karma, afflictions also gradually arose. In the time of happiness, from those beings, two divisions occurred in the eastern continent of Videha, and the beings of Videha were close to miraculous birth and so on. Among them were also people with unpleasant northern sounds, and then the people who practiced cattle. This also initially formed and spread from Jambudvipa. Therefore, the sentient beings of Jambudvipa are the land of karma, with great merit and easy to accomplish. Then, those beings were distracted by joy and happiness, and their life spans were shortened to a billion years. Those beings also became born from eggs. At this time, the light was clear to seven degrees, and beings also traveled in the sky by the wind of karma, and their food was the essence of the elements. Then, due to the power of previous karma, life gradually decreased, and the light of the body and so on also vanished. Among the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, the heat element warmed them, and numerically, it became the cause and condition. Beings born from warmth and moisture appeared completely, and life expectancy reached one hundred thousand years. There, they ate trees, and whenever someone was born, a tree grew. They ate the fruits of the trees, and the reason they needed food was due to their previous attachment to desire. The previous body heat disappeared, and because they needed to cover their bodies, they wore large leaves. This was due to the habit of ignorance, not understanding the nature of things. At this time, these beings did not have distinct male and female sexual organs; they were merely happy to see each other and comfortable to touch, which was a sign that the habit of desire from previous karma was nearing maturity. For them, merit and so on gradually decreased as before, and life expectancy reached eighty thousand years. These beings also gradually began to arise with afflictions. Due to previously falling into the realm of desire, greed arose. At this time, due to the differences in karma and senses, the sexual organs of males and females only slightly appeared. At this time, the greed that arose merely from looking at each other caused beings to mostly propagate from womb births. At this time, the light was only self-illuminating, and they wore bark as clothing. Due to the power of previous karma, wish-fulfilling trees appeared as food, and whenever they wanted to eat, cows became the means of nourishing their bodies. Due to the habit of the wind consciousness, they wanted to walk, but their bodies were weak. When they wanted to walk, intelligent horses would take them to where they wanted to go, and many such meritorious circumstances arose. From then on, hatred gradually arose, and one of them killed a cow. Because of this, hatred manifested and then disappeared, and the horse also disappeared.

Then, due to the power of merit, the light of the sun arose in the sky. They thought that this would not move near or far but would stay here, so they called it the sun. Then the moon arose, and they said that this was like the sun, and they called it the moon. At this time, the moon only appeared at night and had warmth. Then, beings said, "May these two warm lights vanish and become cool." Due to the power of their previous aspirations, the power of warmth ceased and it became cool. Some said it was too cold, so the moon itself began to wax and wane. Then, due to the power of merit, a fine rice grew without needing to be planted, and they ate this rice and lived. If they harvested it in the morning, it would grow back in the morning; if they harvested it in the evening, it would grow back in the evening. By eating this excellent rice, their bodies became very strong. They used the cotton to make clothes, weaving them and wearing them. Due to this influence, a desire for embrace arose, and they were not satisfied without engaging in sexual activity, so sexual activity occurred.
