The way the root revolves. Second, there are five instructions on the path: the view that does not abide by extremes, the meditation of the nature of awareness, the conduct of self-liberation of delusion, the grasping of the unchanging essential point, and the instruction of repetition. First, there are four views: how things are is the nature of reality, how things appear is the way they manifest, all appearances are the nature of mind, and how self-liberation is realized. Second, there are four meditations: the natural way of settling the mind, how experiences of non-thought and self-clarity arise, recognizing appearances as meditation by distinguishing appearances and mind, and repeating the practice of clear and empty indivisibility. Third, there are four conducts: recognizing subtle and coarse appearances as experiences, showing thoughts as the mind's own nature, balancing discouragement and pride, and cultivating non-attachment as self-liberation without clinging. Fourth, there are four ways to take the path as essential: holding the mind in whatever arises, clarifying its essence with luminosity, sealing emptiness with emptiness, and settling the essential point in the indivisibility of emptiness and cessation. Fifth, there are four repetitions: introducing the nature of reality that is unestablished and inconceivable, repeating the practice of pure spontaneity as the basis, repeating the view, meditation, conduct, path, and result, and repeating all that is knowable as all that is knowable. Third, there are four fruits: showing the dependent body with two certainties, showing the wisdom that depends on suchness, the way of benefiting beings with and without dependence, and the way of abiding in the intention of one and many. There are two concluding meanings: dedicating the merit of this virtue, and the way the name 'Heap of Jewels' is completed. The outer explanation of the condensed meaning of 'Heap of Jewels' is complete. The inner explanation of the history of the Secret Mantra Path is present. Namo Ratna Guru. The author of this Secret Mantra Path is the great scholar Padmasambhava, as stated by Orgyen Padmasambhava. Therefore, he possesses immeasurable qualities of greatness and has reached the limit of composing instructions. First, in western Orgyen, his body arose from a lotus flower, so there was no obscuration of the womb. Because he controlled birth and death, his body has no passing away.

Thus spoke Orgyen Padmasambhava: The Vajrayana path to liberation in one lifetime, For the sake of fortunate yogis of future generations, I write this precious lamp of the stages of practice. To grasp the nature of abiding and delusion as they are, Is the non-dual, spontaneously accomplished, primordially enlightened Buddha. Its essence is ignorance, afflictions, and the suffering of samsara. To establish the basis for accomplishment with the five perfections, Consider the advantages and disadvantages of black cliffs, charnel grounds, caves, and so forth. Possess faith, reverence, empowerment, samaya, wisdom, and conviction. Engage in auspicious dates, constellations, and good days, from the first to the fifteenth of the waxing moon. Accumulate food, medicine, offerings, and the substances for practice. Without distraction, with one-pointedness, bring asceticism to its ultimate conclusion. The stages of the protective wheel for yogis are: Meditate on attaining supreme enlightenment for all sentient beings. Protect with the deity's name, vajra wheel, weapons, and fire. Meditate on the body, speech, and mind, the syllables of body, speech, and mind. Visualize Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, whichever is the chosen deity. Meditate on the vajra ground, tent, arrows, and fire. Abide in the nature of non-objectification of the doer and the done. Through the five key points, enter the path: Take refuge in the common, extraordinary, and supreme Three Jewels. Recite, offer, and fulfill the white, red, and black hundred-syllable mantras. Meditate on the leisure and fortune, karma and its effects, impermanence, and faults. Offer the mandala of accomplishment and offering in two ways. Accumulate the two accumulations with various path-taking tormas. Give away the constant torma, three, seven, eleven, and so forth. Offer the seven pure offerings, outer, inner, and secret offerings. These are the preliminaries of the secret mantra path. To establish the three trainings as the foundation of the path: Recognize the incompatible, arising thoughts, equal abiding, and one's own nature. Wisdom) training. Subdue harm, wrong conduct, and distinctions with skillful means. See the meaning of truth, become familiar with it, and do not transgress it. Due to the power of antidotes, eighty-four thousand teachings were spoken. Through the three minds, enter the path: Recognize pleasing parents and meditate on happiness. Contemplate sentient parents being free from suffering. Take up and accomplish the aspiration to attain Buddhahood. The three minds, three categories, three trainings, and three experiences coincide. The extraordinary nature of the secret mantra path is: The four empowerments of vase, secret, wisdom, and great bliss are conferred. Visualize the outer and inner worlds as the mandala deities. The non-duality of arising and ceasing, self-arisen, beyond extremes. By subduing the three key points, non-conceptual self-luminosity arises. Teeth, community, hair, secret, practice only what is true. After equality, enjoy and protect.

Turning the benefits of this path into key points: Abandoning the root of faults—self-grasping—with wisdom; Striving to practice the root of merit—practice; If one's own path has no benefit, let others transform it; Grasping the key point of afflictions and placing them on the path; Placing conceptual thoughts on the path and transforming them into benefits; These are the conditions and limbs of the path. The ultimate completion of this path, the manifested fruit, is: The five bodies, five speeches, five minds, qualities, and activities; With support and without support, self-nature accomplishing activities; Dwelling in one and different, non-dually; Observing whether the view is established and whether it is true.
