English

It is an image of non-existence. Thirdly, it is said in the Vinaya Twenty Chapters: "The vows should be taken again. Medium transgressions are confessed to three people. The remaining transgressions are confessed before one person, according to whether one's mind is afflicted or not." It is said in the Compendium of Trainings: "In a dream, one should sit before the noble Akashagarbha and confess." Here it is said: "Three times day and night, the three aggregates should be purified, and by relying on the Buddhas and the Bodhicitta, the remainder of the transgressions are pacified." Secondly, the meaning of the text has three parts: the preliminary, the main part, and the conclusion. The first part has two aspects: purifying one's own mind-stream and training the mind in benefiting others. The first part has eight aspects: offering, prostration, taking refuge, confessing sins, rejoicing, requesting to turn the wheel of Dharma, requesting not to pass into Nirvana, and dedicating merit. The first part has two aspects: a general explanation and a specific explanation. The first is: the purpose. In order to take hold of the precious mind, the objects are the Tathagatas, and the excellent Dharma, which is without the defilement of discriminating between existence and non-existence, and the sons of the Buddhas, the noble Bodhisattvas who possess an infinite ocean of qualities, that is, the Three Jewels. The manner is excellent, that is, with the thought of attaining Buddhahood, for the sake of sentient beings, with pleasing objects, with the purity of the three spheres, without the defilement of unfavorable factors, and dedicated to great enlightenment, that is, offering in six ways, as it is said in the commentary. The second part has six aspects: those not possessed by others, the body, transformation by mind, wishing the offerings to remain, the unsurpassed, and the offering of praise. The first part has two aspects: the actual and the reason for offering them. The first is: as it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "In the realms of the ten directions, flowers born from water and land, and jewels and other things not possessed by others, should also be offered." Thus, how many flowers and fruits are there in the world, and how many kinds of medicines are there, and how many kinds of jewels are there, and

The clear and pleasing water is cool, sweet, light, and soft. Clear water is without impurities, and drinking it does not harm the stomach or the throat. Thus, whatever has the eight qualities of water, and mountains of precious gold, and likewise forests, places that are secluded from crowds and delightful, trees adorned and beautified with the ornaments of their own flowers, trees whose branches are bent by the weight of good fruits, and in the worlds of gods and others, fragrances such as camphor and incense such as agarwood, wish-fulfilling wish-granting trees, trees made of various jewels, and the forms of crops that grow without being plowed or planted, and other ornaments suitable for offering, such as lakes and ponds adorned with lotuses, with swans proclaiming extremely pleasing and melodious sounds, and so forth, extending to the edge of the boundless expanse of space, that is, immeasurable, pure lands, and things existing in places with unpleasant sounds and so forth that are not possessed by anyone, all of these I take with my mind and offer to the worthy objects of offering, the Supreme Sage and his retinue. If I can offer, then because you are the holy objects of offering who produce great fruits, and the Great Compassionate Ones who wish to accomplish the benefit and happiness of sentient beings, please think of me with love and accept these offerings of mine! Second, what is the reason for not offering one's own possessions, but offering these things? Because I did not accumulate merit in the past and am extremely miserly, therefore, apart from these offering items, I have nothing. Because I wish to offer to you, therefore, please, protectors who only think of benefiting others, accept these offerings by your power for the sake of the benefit of the offerer, me! Second, because of conquering the four maras, you are called Victorious One, that is, the Buddha, and to his sons, I offer my body entirely and forever. O Supreme Heroes, please completely accept me and take me as your own! I respectfully become your servant and act according to your command. Because I am completely taken by you, I suffer in samsara because I rely on the Great One.

Not fearing suffering and being able to benefit sentient beings. If one possesses sins, one cannot do these things, therefore, one must be completely liberated from past sins, confess, and not create other sins in the future. The third is: bathing and cleaning clothes, ornaments, incense and flowers, incense and food, lamps, land, houses, umbrellas, and mentally transforming twelve kinds of offerings. The first of these, shown in order, is: the bathing room is perfumed with sandalwood and other substances, making it extremely fragrant. The crystal ground is bright in color, clear, and radiant, arranged neatly and cleaned thoroughly. There are pleasing pillars adorned with various precious jewels that emit light, and a canopy adorned with strings of pearls hanging above. There, for the Tathagatas and their sons, many precious vases made of gold and other materials are filled with pleasing water mixed with fragrant incense and flowers, accompanied by songs and music, and they are bathed many times. The second is: wiping their bodies with soft, clean, and fragrant clothes that are suitable for their bodies. The third is: after cleaning, offering them clothes that are suitable for renunciates, such as maroon, etc., which are carefully tailored and very fragrant, to the holy ones who are dressed as renunciates. For those who are dressed as householders, offering fine, thin, soft, and colorful clothes. The fourth is: adorning those who have directly seen the truth, the noble ones, with hundreds and thousands of supreme ornaments such as crowns, especially Samantabhadra, Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara, Vajrapani, Maitreya, etc., according to the wishes of the beings to be tamed, adorning those who hold the signs of householders. The fifth is: as stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: the four continents and the sun and moon, Mount Meru and the desire gods, a thousand Brahma worlds, a thousand are considered the general root. A thousand upon that thousand is called the intermediate world. A thousand upon that thousand is the three-thousand great-thousand world. Therefore, in all the infinite Buddha lands such as the three-thousand great-thousand world, fragrance emanates, that is, using the supreme fragrances that always fill with fragrance
