The Phurpa coils from the heart of the slayer without touching it even slightly. Light and a mustard seed-sized A-light radiate from the A at the tip of the Phurpa and dissolve into the A of the slayer. From that, light radiates outward and gathers inward, purifying sins and obscurations, and one thinks of becoming a fortunate one who is liberated. This is his bath initiation, reciting mantras and prolonging it. Then, understanding that the self, Phurpa, and slayer are connected by one intention, one commitment, and one dharmata is the intention of the compassionate connecting cord. Then, generating intense compassion for all sentient beings in general and especially for the slayer, not letting them fall into samsara, is the intention of the lineage of suffering. One should possess the three intentions, reciting the nine-syllable Kilaya mantra as much as possible for each, and clarifying the visualization. These are the bath initiations.
