This body, alone in a secluded place, If already considered like the dead, Even if dying, there is no sorrow. Whoever sits nearby, There is no sorrow or harm, Therefore, remembering the Buddha and so on, No one will be distracted. Therefore, in a forest of great joy and radiance, Where ease is created with little effort, In a place that pacifies all distractions, One should dwell alone. Abandoning all other thoughts, With a single thought towards oneself, To keep the mind equally at rest, One should strive for taming. In this world and the next, Desires are the source of misfortune. Here, killing, binding, and cutting occur, In the next, hells and the like are created. The messengers, male and female, previously, For what reason did they pray so much? For sins or those unheard of, For what reason are they not afraid? Even in fear, one enters, And wealth is exhausted and lost, After fully embracing what, Will they become supremely happy? It is just a skeleton, nothing else, Neither autonomous nor belonging to oneself, Extremely loving and completely attached, Why not be liberated from sorrow? What one initially lifts with effort, And pulls, but looks down in shame, Whether seen or unseen before, The face is covered with clothes. Your faces of afflictions, Now appear as they truly are, Seeing that vultures have finished pecking, Why are you still attached and unwilling to let go? Even when others look with their eyes, What has been completely guarded, When it is eaten by them, Why don't you, the miser, guard it? Seeing this body of flesh, And vultures and other eaters consume it, On the food of others, with flowers, Garlands of sandalwood are offered as adornments. When seeing the bones themselves, Though motionless, you are afraid, If someone moves it like a corpse, Why are you not terrified? To what one covers, one is attached, If not covered, why not desire it? If there is no need for it, Why embrace what covers it? Food comes from one place alone, Feces and saliva arise from it, Among them, one dislikes feces, Why do you like saliva? Not liking the soft touch of cotton, And being happy with pillows made of it, Saying it does not drip with foul odor, The desire-filled are deluded in impurity. The desire-filled, wicked, deluded ones

If touching cotton feels soft, But you say it can't be made into a blanket, You get angry about it. If there is no attachment to impurity, For the body connected by bones and tendons, Smeared with flesh mud, Why do you embrace it in your arms? You yourself have many impurities, Yet you constantly use it, And for other impure feces, You desire them out of greed. If you say I like this flesh, And want to touch and look at it, Then for the nature of being without mind, Why don't you like the flesh? The mind of desire cannot, Touch and look, What can touch and look is not consciousness, What is the use of meaningless embrace? For the impure body of others, Not understanding is not so strange, That one's own nature is impure, Not realizing that is very strange. Having abandoned the cloudless, sunlit, Tender lotus, With a mind attached to impurity, Why do you like the impure container? If even a place stained by impurity, You don't want to touch, Then for the body that arose from it, How do you want to touch it? If there is no attachment to impurity, For what arises from the impure field, And is grown from its seed, Why do you embrace it in your arms? Even a small impure worm that arises from impurity, You don't want to have, But you desire the body of many impure natures, And what is born of impurity as well. You, for your own impurity, Not only do you not despise it, But for the impure feces, You also want to possess it out of greed. For camphor and other pleasing things, And large fruits or even a prostitute, Putting them in the mouth and then spitting them out, The ground also becomes impure and filthy. If for such impurity, Even when it is manifest, you doubt, Then go and look at, The corpses and other impure things abandoned in the charnel ground. If from where the skin is peeled open, Great fear will arise, Knowing this, how can, Joy arise from it? The fragrance applied to the body, Is also sandalwood and other things, For others, the fragrance of others, Why does it cause attachment? If it is naturally smelly, Isn't it better not to be attached to it? The meaningless desires of the world, Why do you apply fragrance to it? Even if it is the fragrance of sandalwood, What is the use of it here from the body?

Why be attached to others through the scent of others? If long hair and nails, teeth with dirt and odor, tainted by the scent of mud, the very nature of the body, naked, is terrifying. Like a weapon that harms oneself, why strive to adorn it? Due to the effort of ignorance towards oneself, madness disturbs the entire world. If seeing just a pile of bones, one feels disgusted in the graveyard, does one prefer the graveyard of the city, covered with shaking bones? That which is so impure, is not obtained without a price. To achieve it, one's body becomes exhausted, and it leads to suffering such as falling into hell. Children cannot increase wealth, so what good is it when one grows old? If one prolongs life with wealth and such, what use are desires when one is old? Some greedy people are completely exhausted by work during the day, and upon returning home, their tired bodies lie down like corpses. Some suffer from traveling far away, enduring pain for a long time, longing for wives and children, but they cannot even see their wives and children, not even as illusions. Those who wish to help themselves, due to ignorance, even if they sell what is important, they cannot obtain it, and are meaninglessly driven by the winds of others' work. Some sell their own bodies, helplessly being used by others, and even if their wives have children, they appear randomly like temples under trees. Fools deceived by desire, wishing to live, enter the battlefield risking their lives to survive, and become slaves for profit. Some greedy people even have their bodies cut, some are publicly executed, impaled on sharp points, some are stabbed with short spears, and some are seen being burned. The suffering of accumulating, guarding, and losing, know that wealth is an endless ruin. Those who are distracted by attachment to wealth, have no time to be liberated from the suffering of samsara. For those with desire, there are these and more, many faults and little benefit, like livestock pulling carts, only eating a few mouthfuls of grass. For the sake of that meager benefit, which is easily obtained even by the efforts of livestock, this rare leisure and fortune is destroyed by those tormented by work. Desire will surely perish, and it causes one to fall into hell and other lower realms,
