From seeing beings as equal to oneself, great love arises, wishing to benefit others. Thus, having generated the five qualities of merit, from these benefits, there will be no faults such as discouragement, and all will be seen as possessing the essence of Buddhahood. Understanding that faults are temporary stains and that merits are inherently pure. From seeing oneself and beings as possessing the Tathagatagarbha, by gradually practicing the stages of the path from that great love, the supreme Buddhahood, which is the ultimate fulfillment of the two benefits, will undoubtedly be quickly attained. In the Mahayana Treatise on the Sublime Continuum, the chapter on the basis to be realized, the Tathagatagarbha, the explanation of the first chapter is completed. The second general topic is the teaching of enlightenment, which has three parts: briefly stating the nature of the meaning to be explained; summarizing the method of explanation; and combining these to explain in detail. The first part is: purity, attainment, separation, self and other benefit, its basis, profundity and vastness, the great self, also, as long as time and as it is. Thus it is said, the ultimate result of the path, the nature of enlightenment, possesses eight special qualities: purified from obscurations, attained by the power of the path of meditation, separated from what is to be abandoned, accomplishing the benefit of self and others, possessing its basis of power, etc., the profound Dharmakaya, the vast Sambhogakaya, the distinction of the great self Nirmanakaya, and knowing the time that samsara exists and the nature of Dharma as it is. The second part is: nature, cause and effect, karma and endowed with entering, that constant inconceivable nature, the Buddha ground is established. Thus it is said, from the purity of the essence of the realm, being free from the temporary stains of what is to be abandoned, possessing both purities, is the meaning of nature. The method of attaining it is practicing the path of Samatha and Vipassana, which is the meaning of cause. From practicing the path, being free from the stains of the two obscurations, is the meaning of effect. From abandoning obscurations, accomplishing the benefit of self and others, is the meaning of karma. That

Refers to the basis of inconceivable qualities. That is, entering through the differentiation of the three bodies—the Essence Body, the Enjoyment Body, and the Emanation Body—it means that these (qualities) are constant as long as sentient beings and space exist, and that the state of ultimate perfection is unimaginable to ordinary beings. These eight meanings themselves establish the ultimate result in the state of Buddhahood. The third part has seven points: elaborating on the essence and cause, result, action, possession, entry, permanence, and inconceivability. The first part has two points: briefly explaining how to attain purity, and elaborating on its meaning. The first point is: What is called "self-luminous nature" is like the sun and the sky, obscured by sudden afflictions and obscurations of knowledge like thick clouds. The stainless Buddha is endowed with all virtues, the eternal, steadfast, and unchanging Buddha. This is attained by relying on non-discriminating wisdom regarding phenomena and discriminating wisdom regarding objects. It is said that the Buddha, who possesses two purities, is luminous by nature. Thus, the Bodhi mentioned in the definitive scriptures has four characteristics: it is vast like the sun of wisdom, and pure like the sky of realization and abandonment, which is the characteristic of the essence; it is obscured by sudden afflictions and the thick clouds of the obscurations of knowledge, which is stainless, the characteristic of abandoning obscurations; it is endowed with all the virtues of the stainless Buddha, such as the ten powers, and is the manifestation of the Buddha of eternal, steadfast, and unchanging nature, which is the characteristic of possessing virtues; Bodhi is attained through the wisdom of equipoise that does not discriminate all phenomena and the wisdom of subsequent attainment that discriminates objects of knowledge, through practicing the path, which is the characteristic of the cause, that is, it has four characteristics. Second, the detailed explanation is divided into four points: the essence, the state of possessing virtues, the meaning of obscuration, and the cause of liberation from obscuration. The first point is: The Buddha himself is non-dual, distinguished by pure Dharma, like the sun and the sky, which are the characteristics of both wisdom and abandonment. It is said that the Buddha's

The very enlightenment of Bodhi is the nature of self-nature completely pure, all existing without distinction, and ultimately separated from sudden defilements, distinguished by the Dharma possessing two purities. Just as the sun is naturally bright and the sky is naturally pure, the nature of wisdom is the merit of non-differentiation, the realization of luminous clarity and the complete purification of the two obscurations, which is the state of possessing the characteristics of the perfection of abandonment and realization. The second is: Light is not made, without distinction, with the Ganges River, beyond the dust, so the Buddha's Dharma is complete. It is said that the Dharmakaya, the self-luminous nature of the uncontaminated realm, is not manifested by causes and conditions, and is also the one who enters without distinction into the nature of all sentient beings. It transcends the number of dust in the Ganges River, and is naturally endowed with the immeasurable virtues of the Buddha, such as power, and all dharmas from the beginning. The third is: Self-nature is not established, and by pervasiveness and suddenness, the two obscurations of affliction and knowledge are there, and it is said to be like a cloud covering. It is said that the nature of defilements, etc., is not truly established from the beginning, and it pervades all impure states, and because it can be abandoned, it is sudden. For these three reasons, the obstacle to liberation, the obscuration of affliction, and the obstacle to omniscience, the obscuration of knowledge, are said to obscure the self-luminous nature like clouds obscuring the sun and the sky in the state of sentient beings. The fourth is: The cause of being free from the two obscurations is the two wisdoms, non-discrimination and its subsequent attainment, which is wisdom. It is said that the cause of the fruit of complete liberation and the manifestation of the Dharmakaya, which is free from the two obscurations of affliction and knowledge, is the dual practice of the two wisdoms that realize suchness and quantity. That is, the Bodhisattvas in Samadhi,
