Because the Buddha-nature is free from the obscurations of delusion, all the obscurations of delusion in one's own continuum that hinder the realization of how all the six consciousnesses, together with their objects, which are designated by delusion and non-delusion, truly are, have been abandoned. Furthermore, one should not generate the deluded phenomena of one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, which is free from delusion, namely the six consciousnesses together with their deluded appearances that appear as delusions to oneself. Because all the causes of delusion have been abandoned, the fault of the result of delusion will not occur. Moreover, even though one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, knows and understands the deluded phenomena of others' continua, one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, will not become a deluded mind. Because it is the delusion of one's own continuum that causes one to be deluded, but even if the deluded phenomena of others' continua appear to one's own mind and are understood, one's own mind will not become deluded by turning back on itself like whipping a pillar. One's own mind, the primordial Buddha-nature, in the state of being completely purified of the obscurations of delusion, all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana, which are deluded, and all knowable objects, are like a mirror free from tarnish, reflecting all images as they are. Therefore, in the clear light of the primordial Buddha-nature mind, no matter what kind of thoughts of sentient beings suddenly arise, the clear light of the primordial Buddha-nature mind cannot be made afflicted, turbid, or obscured. Although in the past, when the suddenly arising defiled mind, relying on the clear light of one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, becomes turbid, it may seem as if the clear light of the Buddha-nature is obscured in the relative truth. However, when the turbidity of the suddenly arising defiled mind, relying on the clear light of one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, subsides later, the turbidity of the suddenly arising defiled mind will not arise again, just as a disease is completely cured. Because the primordial clear light of one's own mind does not enter into the nature of the impure mind, it does not cling to it. And the obscurations of others' continua that obscure the Buddha-nature do not obscure one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, in one's own continuum.

Because of that. Because one does not bind the continuum of others with the obscurations of others' delusion. All bondage and liberation follow the karma accumulated by each individual's mind. Therefore, when the mind of adventitious defilements subsides into the expanse, relying on the very essence of one's own mind, the naturally luminous Buddha-nature, that very naturally luminous mind is not able to be corrupted by any inverted thoughts of adventitious defilements of self and others. Because all the qualities of abandonment and realization have been completely perfected without regression, and one has already attained complete enlightenment, the natural mind is separated from the adventitious defilements and remains alone. As it is said: 'The natural mind abides in solitude, O yogi!' Thus it is said. Therefore, the essence of one's own mind, the Buddha-nature, is free from obscurations, and whether phenomena of knowable objects appear or do not appear, whether one knows or does not know, etc., are merely expressions in the conventional truth of worldly parlance, stating how things are according to the conventional truth. However, when examined by reason, or in the view of the noble ones, and in the face of the yogi's equipoise in suchness, it is impossible to posit anything such as the appearance or non-appearance of knowable objects, knowing or not knowing, etc., in the mind of the Buddha-nature free from obscurations. For the appearance of knowable objects, etc., is merely a provisional imputation of unexamined false phenomena, and as a dharma that is truly established through valid examination, it is beyond speech, thought, and expression. Having understood this principle, one should strive to recognize for oneself the nature of one's own mind, the natural Buddha-nature, this ordinary awareness, the Great Seal. 93
