Because it is merely the manifestation of the mother's virtuous nature. Because virtuous and happy results arise from virtuous and happy causes, the interdependence of cause and effect is not deceptive. Therefore, the body, wisdom, and activities of the Buddha's realm are all the roots of virtue that effortlessly arise or accomplish the perfect enlightenment of beings. It is impossible to accomplish other activities besides this. The perfect Buddha is like a good source of jewels that creates and increases the cause of virtue, because he has attained irreversible freedom in the activity of accumulating virtue. Therefore, the virtue created and increased by the perfect Buddha should be dedicated as the supreme Mahayana virtue. Because the virtue of the Buddha to be dedicated is separate from the entity of the virtue to be dedicated, the benefit of sentient beings will be quickly accomplished by the cause of dedication. Therefore, it is said: May the Bodhisattvas' intention to benefit beings be accomplished. May sentient beings receive happiness and prosperity from whatever the Protector thinks. Thus, it is taught that one should make prayers and dedications like the Protector Buddha, who benefits beings, so that his activities, as he wishes, may benefit sentient beings. All the causes and effects of samsara and nirvana are understood to be like the sky, not established as truly existent, and are purified in the realm of Dharma. Even small non-virtues should be avoided. Because non-virtue arises from clinging to causes and effects as truly existent, giving rise to attachment and aversion, and thereby creating non-virtuous actions and the resulting suffering. Because the cause of delusion, which is clinging to the true self-nature of the objects of cause and effect, has been eliminated, one should be afraid and fearful of even the smallest non-virtuous actions, like a madman, because this will create many things that are not beneficial to oneself and others' happiness and virtue. The avoidance of evil deeds by the noble ones out of fear is something that no one who is known as a wise, accomplished, or realized ordinary person can avoid. Therefore, even the noble ones avoid baseless non-virtues, and suppose that like a Shravaka Arhat, they jump like a monkey in a bad situation of afflictions that have fallen from the Arhat state.

If one accumulates immoral actions with unrestrained behavior like a wild horse, then, like an Arhat who is subject to decline, the obscurations that should be abandoned will recur. It seems impossible that noble beings would engage in non-virtuous actions for fear of falling from their own abandonment and realization. In particular, for Mahayana noble beings, there is no possibility that the cause of non-virtuous actions would even arise in a dream. Therefore, if one thinks that noble beings are particularly superior as individuals and have attained the state of nobility, so even if they engage in non-virtuous actions, they will experience the result of happiness, that is not the case. If one engages in non-virtuous actions, which are the cause of suffering, then only results that are consistent with that cause will arise. For it is impossible for causes and results to mature perversely, whether they are appropriate or inappropriate. Drikungpa, the protector of the three realms, said: Even a tenth-level Bodhisattva will fall into the lower realms if they engage in non-virtuous actions. Therefore, some people nowadays say that if one realizes the view of profound emptiness, even if one engages in non-virtuous conduct, that cause cannot produce the result of suffering. Because all causes and results abide in emptiness, and if one realizes it in this way, the cause of non-virtuous actions will be severed by realizing emptiness, and the experience of suffering in the lower realms will naturally cease. They say this, relying on their confidence in being established in the high position of the view of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, and recklessly engaging in the causes of the lower realms. This is viewing the meaning of emptiness as a nihilistic annihilation, thus degenerating from the view. Because of degenerating from the view, they engage in actions that even cut off the roots of virtue that would lead to higher realms, thus degenerating from conduct as well. Such people who hinder the growth of virtue should not be imitated, but rather we should imitate the Buddhas and their heirs. 89
