64 64 Thus, if one single-pointedly abides in the nature of ordinary consciousness, then realizing that all the objects and subjects of that samadhi are free from elaboration is itself the accumulation of the wisdom collection. Likewise, by that very non-conceptual wisdom of realization, becoming the chief of all wisdom that enters into the merit collection, becoming the supreme merit collection, that itself is the complete accumulation of the two collections, because it is extremely excellent, considering that the power to eradicate the collection of obscurations from the root is great. The protector of the three realms, Drikungpa, said, "From samadhi, all qualities arise." Thus, because the cause for generating all the dharmas of the fruition Buddha is samadhi, in its post-meditation, the dharmas of the fruition Buddha gradually manifest. Here, Gyalwa Godtsangpa and Yang Gonpa, etc., the Drukpa tradition, speak of three: samadhi, post-meditation, and post-cognition. Post-cognition is, after rising from samadhi, it is established as the cognition after obtaining the qualities of post-meditation. Post-cognition is made into three: like space, like illusion, and like ordinary common people. The first occurs above the purity where samadhi and post-meditation are mixed. The second is from the first ground to the impure seven grounds. The third is applied to having reached the worldly accumulation and application stages. Similarly, the commentary on the Ornament for Clear Realization says: post-meditation without outflows and post-meditation pure, the so-called completely pure post-meditation pure is this very post-cognition appearing as an ordinary common person. Therefore, in this teaching tradition, one must not stray into the three wrong paths and not fall into the four losses. The so-called three wrong paths are the wrong paths based on shamatha, and the four losses are the wrong paths based on vipashyana. That is, if one thinks that in these three realms, the upper realm is liberation and peace, then in order to generate the fruition of the upper realm, practicing the samadhi of equipoise as the cause, and the samadhi of the birth place, and the one-pointedness of desire, on the basis of desire, is the wrong path of the bliss of the desire realm, and incidentally, if one desires only the state of a good rebirth without renunciation, and keeps the precepts, if one clings to bliss, that is called falling into the desire realm. As the conducive condition for the samadhi of equipoise as the cause, the upper realm birth

However, if one merely regards this as liberation and does not possess the practice of the Great Vehicle's renunciation, then from clear samadhi, one will fall into the form realm, and from non-conceptual samadhi, one will fall into the formless realm, and be placed in a state of downfall. Among the four types of errors, the error of losing the nature of emptiness refers to the fact that all phenomena do not move from the state of nirvana of emptiness of inherent nature, and do not transcend the realm of phenomena. Therefore, one believes that there is no need to newly attain the excellent nirvana that does not abide anywhere through efforts such as accumulation and purification, and there is no need to abandon the evil samsara again, thereby cutting off the practice of accumulation and purification and abandoning the antidote. This is an error that hinders progress on the path. The error of expanding emptiness refers to the fact that all phenomena of conventional reality do not transcend the ultimate reality of dharmata. Therefore, for phenomena of conventional reality such as samsara and nirvana, there is no need to abandon, adopt, negate, or accomplish. The nature of the primordial Buddha Samantabhadra will transform into the original, perfect, great virtue, thereby cutting off the practice of accumulation and purification, which is an error that hinders progress on the path. The error of losing the path of emptiness refers to the fact that the great emptiness of inherent emptiness, which is the emptiness of all phenomena from the beginning, is all the ground, path, and fruit. Liberation is merely the exhaustion of delusion and error. Therefore, when one gains a slight understanding and experience of emptiness, one believes that this is sufficient, thereby cutting off the continuity of accumulation and purification, which is an error that hinders progress on the path. The error of emptiness as an antidote refers to the fact that the causes and effects of samsara, such as karma and afflictions, are all real phenomena. As an antidote to this, merely regarding emptiness as a contemplation and meditation will cut off the real and true appearance of samsara. Therefore, one believes that this is sufficient, thereby cutting off the accumulation and purification that leads to the attainment of the great enlightenment, which is an error that hinders progress on the path. The latter is called Hinayana mind-training, also called the mind of self-interest, also called viewing liberation as a real entity, and also called the basis of Hinayana knowledge. It is said to be the work of demons, which is the main obstacle to the path of the Great Vehicle. This error based on the wisdom of superior insight is called an error because there is a great precipice of deviating from the view and practice of the Great Vehicle. This is what Gampopa and his disciples said.
