Commentary's Praise and Introduction Commentary's Praise and Introduction ༈ Oṃ Svasti Vijayantu. By the primordial, unelaborated realization of wisdom, Having uprooted all elaborated signs, According to the temperament and capacity of those to be tamed, whatever is tamed, I prostrate to the complete Buddha who turns the wheel of Dharma. Merely arising from dependent origination in conventional truth, Things like existence, non-existence, arising, and ceasing, which are established in reality, Praising the master Nāgārjuna, who possesses the authority to explain the absence of extremes, Together with the lineage. Extremely profound, fearless of fear, the feet of the moon, The great power of Gampopa to open that tradition, Comprehending exactly what he taught, knowing the three times, The Kagyu (2n) Praising and prostrating here, free from delusion. Generating the wisdom of hearing and thinking, and Generating great compassion for beings without discrimination, To the father and mother who completely embrace, I prostrate to the guide of beings, Nyanpa. The thought of glorious Nāgārjuna, the light of the moon, For whatever virtuous deeds the youth does, Not enduring from the heart the faults of those who wrongly view self and other, This nectar of emptiness and dependent origination, the bliss of accomplishment, Is mixed for the sake of immortality for limitless beings. Moreover, our teacher, who does not possess even a slight flaw, And who possesses qualities without exception, the Buddha Shakyamuni of the fortunate aeon, that supreme lamp of the world, turned limitless wheels of expression and what is expressed, and (2b) Dharma talks, and as many doors of Dharma as there are in the world. When gathered into a collection with summaries, there are the three wheels of Dharma, the three talks, and the eighty-four thousand doors of Dharma, and the twelve branches of scripture that are closely needed for all of these. As it is said: "It is also called self, And it is also taught as selfless. The Buddhas teach self and Sometimes they teach no-self." And: "All is truly true, not true. True, true is not true. Not true, true is not true. That is what the Buddha taught." And: "In the nectar of the lotus-born one's mouth, Impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and With the sound of peace, knowing the means, Sentient beings are weary of the three realms.

From there, he manifested entering into Nirvana, fully entered the path of peace, possessed the understanding of attaining Nirvana, such as the Lotus Sutra, etc., by revealing the reality of all dharmas, liberating them from their previous attachments, completely holding with skillful means and wisdom, maturing them in the supreme Mahayana, and prophesying them to supreme Bodhi. Thus, and so on. Also, the master Aryadeva said: "First, avert non-merit; in the middle, avert the self; in the end, avert all views; whoever knows this is wise." All the dharmas that arise in this way are combined with the two paths of higher rebirth and definite goodness. Among them, for the sake of the path of higher rebirth, there is no need for the selflessness of the person and phenomena, as well as emptiness, and the wisdom that realizes it, and the yoga of calm abiding and insight that generates it in the continuum, and so on. In this way, using the worldly path to sever attachment, there is both the name and meaning of the yoga of calm abiding and insight. Apart from this, in other non-Buddhist and Bon teachings, as well as texts similar to them, the establishment of emptiness appears frequently, but all of them are temporary emptiness, so they are not the true emptiness that serves as an entrance for those who desire liberation. Therefore, for the sake of the path of definite goodness, if the dharma of selflessness is not necessarily taught, then this path will definitely not be able to lead to that place. The sutra says: "Because of not knowing the nature of emptiness, peace, and non-arising, one wanders in samsara." Also, in the sutra: "Whoever knows this non-existent dharma, will become without attachment to all dharmas." In "Praise of the Transcendent World" it says: "Without realizing the signless, you said there is no liberation, therefore you fully revealed it in the Great Vehicle." Also, the master Aryadeva said: "There is no second gate of peace." Thus it is said. That the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas proceed to peace, in all the scriptures and treatises, it is unanimously declared that one must realize that the self of the person is not truly established. In some scriptures and treatises, it is extensively said that one must realize that the self of phenomena is not truly established. Therefore, the dharma of emptiness is extensively spoken of in the great Mahayana Madhyamaka and Yogacara scriptures, as well as in the Tantras.
