The Sixth Chapter: Showing the Way the Six Categories of Basis Activity are Confused, from the Great Perfection Peaceful Manjushri Heart Drop. The Sixth Chapter: Showing the Way the Six Categories of Basis Activity are Confused, from the Great Perfection Peaceful Manjushri Heart Drop. Initially, the dharmadhatu is the basis of all virtues. Its essence is emptiness, but its nature is clearly manifest. Compassion pervades all, and qualities are spontaneously accomplished. Primordially clear, it transcends the laws of samsara. That which is called the alaya, the basis of meaning's union, Not recognizing its own face, the eight consciousness aggregates, Clinging to the imprints of objects and actions, The various imprints are called the basis of all. The initial obscuration is coemergent ignorance, A great darkness, primordially unknowing. The category of names is the basis upon which liberation depends. The union of meaning and the root of samsara are considered the alaya. That, too, is like an unmanifested mirror, as stated in the scriptures. The clarity and brightness of that consciousness, Is like the arising of images, similar to the five sense consciousnesses. That which discerns that is the consciousness of mind. To that, attachment, aversion, and neutrality arise accordingly. Simultaneously arising, that is the afflicted mind. With the gross conceptualization of grasper and grasped, Through virtuous and non-virtuous actions, in the desire realm, Appearing but without conceptualization, with the samadhi of existence, The form realm and all appearing objects, By obstructing, the seeds of birth in the formless realm, Are accumulated and placed upon the alaya. In whatever there is no conceptualization, naturally one-pointed, When the appearing objects of the alaya are clearly seen, Wherever there is no conceptualization, that is the alaya consciousness. The consciousness that clearly manifests the five objects separately, Is called the five sense powers of awareness. Whatever object arises first as the grasped, Secondly, the consciousness of mind that discerns, Attachment, aversion, and neutrality are held by the afflicted mind. The name of the awareness consciousness that arises from the six self-causes, The dharma of desire, clarity, and non-conceptual vipashyana. The form realm is one-pointed, with a stable basis. It causes confusion in the formless existence. Because it is not grasped by the uncontaminated path of liberation, The grasper and grasped, virtue and non-virtue, wander in all kinds of samsara. In the formless realm is the alaya, in the form realm, Its consciousness is mainly the seven aggregates of the desire realm. When the places of desire go to sleep, The five senses, the afflicted mind, that too is mind consciousness. Mind consciousness dissolves into the alaya consciousness, the alaya. The alaya dissolves into the dharmadhatu.

Pa (ending particle). When coarse and subtle grasping thoughts subside, clear light dawns. If one knows one's own nature, delusion will be reversed. From the realm of Dharma, again, the Alaya, And when consciousness and mind consciousness arise, dreams appear. Habitual tendencies grasp onto the mind's dharmas as self. The root of conceptual proliferation and reliance on the seven aggregates, The collection that enters into the empty central channel. Alaya, the three samenesses, are called "all-knowing." In the unchanging light of the central channel of light, When the Alaya dissolves, the clear light phenomenon dawns. Again, the consciousness and mind consciousness of the Alaya, When they increase, the winds increase in the life force channel. Then, fully entering into the function of the senses, The daytime phenomena, the grasped and the grasper, naturally appear. In the desire realm, the coarse is the main thing. Thoughts arise towards objects, like a turning wheel, The fourth, in sequence, are thoughts, analysis, joy, and sorrow, Feeling is endowed with faults, and existence comes. In the formless realm, in a state of non-thought, each Concentrates and relies on the four name aggregates. The mind of formless meditation that has not attained liberation, Because it is unpredicted, ignorance and sleep are abundant, Exhausting and the cause and effect of samsara are reversed. Therefore, compared to that, liberation is extremely precious. Habituating the mind of desire as it is, becomes the cause of liberation, Therefore, proper attention should not be belittled. During the day, the seven aggregates are the main ones, the other two are attendants. Seeing forms is eye consciousness. Clear and non-conceptual is the Alaya consciousness, The non-conceptual Alaya, the remainder is also known in the same way. During focused sleep, all consciousnesses are the Alaya. During dreams, consciousness arises without knowing. Upon waking, the Alaya and the eight consciousnesses are one in essence. Not knowing one's own nature of clear light, with the grasped and the grasper, The nature of sentient beings being deluded in existence is: The root is ignorance, and the corresponding three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance, And the ten non-virtues corresponding to them. Meritorious actions are similar, unwavering actions, The three sequentially lead to lower realms, desire gods, and humans. Formless meditation accomplishes the cause and effect of existence. In the unobstructed sky, The cross of wind, the mandala of water, etc., Above the nature of hard and solid vajra, The powerful golden ground with its circumference. Rain falls from the sky, from the bubbles of the ocean, The world composed of Mount Meru and the oceans is formed. Mount Meru is of the nature of jewels, seven golden mountains, Seven playful oceans, and the outer great ocean.
