The Oral Instruction for Dispelling Clouds, Surrounded by Four Hayagriva Shwana. The Oral Instruction for Dispelling Clouds, Surrounded by Four Hayagriva Shwana. The Oral Instruction for Dispelling Clouds, Surrounded by Four Hayagriva Shwana, Resides Here. Namo Guru Manjughoshaya. (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་མཉྫུ་གྷོ་ཥཱ་ཡ།) The method for dispelling clouds is as follows: Spread out in front of you a corpse cloth on which the mantra below is written. Use the corpse cloth as a seat and sit comfortably. Take refuge and generate bodhicitta. Purify all phenomena into emptiness with स्वाभाव (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभाव, Sanskrit Romanization: svabhāva, Literal Chinese Meaning: Self-nature). From within emptiness, on top of various lotuses and sun discs, from Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ) arises a red lotus marked with Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ). From this, completely transform into yourself as Hayagriva, the King of Wrathful Deities. Your body is red in color, with faces that are red, black, and white. Above the main face is a green horse head. Of your eight hands, the first right hand makes the gesture of a three-pointed banner, with the thumb pressing down on the little finger and the remaining three fingers extended. The second holds various vajras. The third holds a sword. The fourth holds an arrow. The first left hand holds various lotuses. The second holds a short spear. The third holds a mirror. The fourth holds a bow. Of your four legs, the two front legs are extended to the right, and the two back legs are extended to the left, trampling on Vinayaka and Ishvara. With the sound of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ), subdue all malicious beings. Your body is extremely large, complete with all the wrathful demeanor and ornaments. At your crown is Oṃ (Tibetan: ཨོ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Oṃ), at your throat is Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Āḥ), and at your heart is Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ). From Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ) emanate rays of light, inviting the wisdom being identical to yourself from its natural abode. Make offerings and then recite Jaḥ (Tibetan: ཛཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: जः, Sanskrit Romanization: jaḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Jaḥ) Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ) Vaṃ (Tibetan: བཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Vaṃ) Hoḥ (Tibetan: ཧོཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: होः, Sanskrit Romanization: hoḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hoḥ), inviting, abiding, binding, and delighting. Again, emanate rays of light, invite the initiation deities, make offerings, pray, and fill your body with initiation water. From the remaining water swirling upwards, visualize Amitabha Buddha adorning your crown. Make offerings by reciting Oṃ Haya Grīva Arghaṃ Pratīccha Hūṃ Svāhā (Tibetan: ༀ་ཧ་ཡ་གྲཱི་བ་ཨརྒྷཾ་པྲ་ཏཱི་ཙྪ་ཧཱུཾ་སྭཱཧཱ།, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ haya grīva arghaṃ pratīccha hūṃ svāhā, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Hayagriva, offering, accept, Hum, Svaha) and so on. Praise with whatever praise you know. From the tongue that arises from Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Hūṃ), which is red in color and becomes very large, move it and swallow all the gathered clouds into your mouth. When exhaling, shatter the clouds into fine dust. From your heart, countless wrathful deities holding various weapons, with flames blazing from their bodies, emanate immeasurably, visualizing that all clouds are dispelled. Recite Oṃ Tarjaya Tarjaya Śamaśana Priyaya Phaṭ Svāhā (Tibetan: ༀ་ཏརྫ་ཡ་ཏརྫ་ཡ་ཤ་མ་ཤ་ན་པྲི་ཡ་ཡ་ཕཊ་སྭཱཧཱ།, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ tarjaya tarjaya śamaśana priyaya phaṭ svāhā, Literal Chinese Meaning: Om, Threaten, Threaten, Peaceful, Beloved, Phat, Svaha), and by reciting this mantra, it will be accomplished. This is the... of the incomparable Je Tsongkhapa.

Said by the glorious one. This instruction on stopping rain through Hayagriva is also a teaching given in response to a request made when excessive rain caused damage to huts and fields. Sarva Mangalam! Om Mani Padme Hum! Next, Hayagriva is seated surrounded by four dogs. Homage to the Lama and glorious Hayagriva. First, take refuge and generate the mind of enlightenment. Then, from the Hum (ཧཱུྃ།,हुं,hūṃ,seed syllable Hum) situated on a lotus and sun disc at the heart, light radiates. Inviting all the Lamas, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas in the sky, perform the seven-branch practice. Meditate on the four immeasurables. This is the means of accumulating merit. Then, by Svabhava (སྭ་བྷྭ་ཝ།,,svabhāva,) it becomes empty. From that emptiness, from Hum (ཧཱུྃ།,हुं,hūṃ,seed syllable Hum) arises a variegated vajra center marked with Hum (ཧཱུྃ།,हुं,hūṃ,seed syllable Hum), from which rays of light radiate in the ten directions. Above, all is a vajra canopy; below, all is a vajra ground; in all directions, all is a vajra fence; outside, all is a protective wheel of blazing wisdom fire, which even the wind at the end of an eon cannot penetrate. In the center of that, from Bhrum (བྷྲཱུཾ།,,bhrūṃ,) arises a four-sided palace of various jewels, possessing four doors, complete with all characteristics, in the center of which, from Pam (པཾ།,,paṃ,) arises a lotus, and from Ram (རཾ།,,raṃ,) arises a sun disc, upon which from Hrih (ཧྲཱིཿ,ह्रीः,hrīḥ,seed syllable Hrih) arises a golden five-pronged vajra marked with Hrih (ཧྲཱིཿ,ह्रीः,hrīḥ,seed syllable Hrih), from which light radiates. Gathering and merging, the main deity and the retinue of five arise simultaneously in complete form. The visualization is as follows: The self is red in color, with three faces and six arms, and four legs. The root face is the same color as the body, the right face is white, and the left face is green. Possessing three red and round eyes, with a wide-open mouth and bared fangs, eyebrows and beard blazing upwards in reddish-yellow. The hair is reddish-brown, standing on end, from within which appear three green horse heads neighing. Adorned with three dry skulls as a headdress, and a necklace of fresh skulls. Decorated with five kinds of snakes. The first of the right hands holds aloft a golden five-pronged vajra, the second holds a golden lasso, and the third holds a sandalwood staff. The first of the left hands holds a skull cup filled with blood at the heart, the second holds a sword, and the third hand has fingers stretched upwards, from which emanate garudas of the five families, dispelling all evil.
