Humbly bowing to the feet of the root and lineage lamas, this is a method for accomplishing the vidyadhara of longevity. As instructed by the omniscient lama, I will clearly inquire about it here. If you wish to practice the self-arisen mantra of immortality, it is best to complete it in the morning before the crow crows. In any case, before speaking to anyone, sit on a comfortable seat. Generate certainty in your mind, in accordance with the common refuge and bodhicitta. In particular, generate great devotion to the root and lineage lamas of this practice. Since longevity is important for practicing the Dharma in order to accomplish Buddhahood, generate the intention to accomplish the vidyadhara of longevity. Then, visualize yourself clearly as Amitayus. From the HRIH (藏文，梵文天城体：ह्रीः，梵文罗马拟音：hrīḥ，汉语字面意思：舍) syllable in your heart, rays of light emanate, inviting Amitayus from Sukhavati, surrounded by the root and lineage lamas, etc., to the space in front of you. Make offerings and perform the seven-branch practice. Meditate on the four immeasurables. Delight the assembly field, and as they dissolve into you, your body transforms into light. Recite: ༀ་ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཨཱ་ཏྨ་ཀོཉཧཾ། (藏文，梵文天城体：Om shunyata jnana vajra svabhava atmako 'nyoham，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva ātma ko 'nyaḥaṃ，汉语字面意思：嗡，空性，智慧，金刚，自性，我，非他), and meditate on emptiness. From emptiness, from PAM arises an eight-petaled iron lotus. On top of that, from AH arises a full moon disc. On top of that, a red HRIH (藏文，梵文天城体：ह्रीः，梵文罗马拟音：hrīḥ，汉语字面意思：舍) syllable, complete with bindu, nadha, and long mark, emits rays of light. Purify the sins and obscurations of all sentient beings. In particular, purify the obstacles to longevity and establish them in the state of Amitayus. Offer pleasing offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Inspire their minds. Gather all the blessings of those deities, and the power of all the essences of medicine, such as worldly and transmundane substances. Dissolve into the HRIH (藏文，梵文天城体：ह्रीः，梵文罗马拟音：hrīḥ，汉语字面意思：舍) syllable and completely transform. You yourself become the Buddha Amitayus, your body the color of red coral, with one face and two arms, holding a precious golden vase filled with the nectar of immortality in the mudra of equipoise, adorned with a wish-fulfilling tree at the mouth of the vase, and with a celestial garment as a neck ornament. Your two legs are seated in the vajra posture. You are wearing three red silk Dharma robes. Your crown protuberance and other marks and signs are beautiful. Like a full moon.

Having a fully complete backdrop, with the sun and moon rising on the left and right shoulders. In the center of the blazing and swirling red light dwells one whose crown has a white Oṃ (ༀ，梵文天城体：ओ，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ，Body), whose throat has a red Āḥ (ཨཱཿ，梵文天城体：आ，梵文罗马拟音：āḥ，Speech), and whose heart has a blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུཾ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，Mind). Inside the abdomen, near the back, is an iron life-force channel, about the size of a forearm, with its upper end inserted into the crown aperture and its lower end inserted into the secret place. Within it, the central channel is about the size of an arrow shaft, with a bluish-gray color tinged with red, filled with luminous flashes of red and green wind. Like reflections appearing in a mirror, the clear mantra garland has eight rounds, with the heads of the four directions pointing upwards and the heads of the four intermediate directions pointing downwards. The mantra is connected from beginning to end, pervading entirely from the upper tip to the lower tip of the central channel. Inside the lower end of the central channel is a red Amitāyus identical to oneself, and inside the upper end is a white Amitāyus, with the same attire as oneself, possessing a mass of light, dwelling with his head pointing upwards. Inside the central channel directly in the center of the heart chakra is an Amitāyus identical to oneself, with a reddish-blue hue. In his heart, on top of a moon, is a vase filled with the nectar of immortal life. Inside it, residing on the moon, is a golden five-pronged vajra. In the center of its base, on a moon seat, inside a joined light-gau box, are the red Hriḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ，梵文天城体：ह्रीः，梵文罗马拟音：hrīḥ，Great Cause) syllable, complete with a dot, a thick dot, and a long mark, and the blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུཾ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，Mind) syllable, intertwined with each other. Radiating five rays of light, they are the nature of the five wisdoms, and one should believe them to be the essence of one's own mind. From the inner Hriḥ (ཧྲཱིཿ，梵文天城体：ह्रीः，梵文罗马拟音：hrīḥ，Great Cause) and the outer Hūṃ (ཧཱུཾ，梵文天城体：हुं，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，Mind), rays of light like iron hooks radiate. From the upper realm of the qualities' arrangement, invite the wisdom Amitāyus who is exactly like oneself, and contemplate him residing behind the crown of one's head, and recite: Oṃ Aparimita Āyurjñāna Sarva Rivaara Vajra Samājaḥ (ༀ་ཨ་པར་མི་ཏ་ཨཱ་ཡུར་ཛྙཱ་ནས་བ་རི་ཝཱ་ར་བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ). Perform the vajra-gathering mudra. Praise with one verse such as "Leading the world." Offer with offerings. Hūṃ, the vajra life that has completely abandoned birth and death, please grant me the siddhi of life. Oṃ Vajra Āyuṣe Sara Hākara Reśara Ri Hūṃ Phat (ༀ་བཛྲ་ཨཱ་ཡུ་ཥེ་ས་ར་ཧ་ཀ་ར་རེ་ཤ་ར་རི་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ།), pray three times. From the heart of the Amitāyus above, red rays of light like iron hooks radiate in the ten directions, illuminating one's life and merit from beginningless time.
