Verse Collection, Chapter Seventeen. Dohakosha Treasury of the Great Perfection of Speech on the Perfection of Wisdom. Verse Collection, Chapter Seventeen. Dohakosha Treasury of the Great Perfection of Speech on the Great Perfection of Speech on the Perfection of Wisdom. This is called the Dohakosha Treasury of the Great Perfection of Speech on the Perfection of Wisdom. In Sanskrit: Mahasandhi Jñana Samudra Paramita Paramita Dohakosha Vajra Girti Nama. In Tibetan: The Vajra Song of the Dohakosha Treasury of Speech on the Perfection Beyond the Perfection of the Great Perfection of Wisdom Ocean. Homage to the uncreated expanse of Dharma-nature! This is the gate of liberation: emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, though praised by the Victorious Ones, are obscured by words, and emptiness is mistaken for a thing. The eight extremes of complete fabrication are free from elaboration, but having become dependent on signs, entering the state with wishes is the dregs of view. Whoever seeks the meaning of emptiness, abandoning the two extremes and abiding in the Middle Way, though sharpening the sharp weapon of consequentialism, is disturbed from the realm of quiescence, devoid of own-being. As emptiness is not established by its own nature, and the conventional is experienced as false appearances, mixing them and seeking the inseparability of the two truths is also bound by the noose of the consciousness-only. The very nature of conceiving the aggregates and so forth as empty, if not separate from the phenomena of appropriation, though arguing about the Perfection of Wisdom, does not touch the meaning of quiescence and grasps at existence. If one attains enlightenment with the truth of complete knowledge of one's own nature, then meditative equipoise and non-equipoise are false phenomena. Measuring with equipoise is the formless absorption of meditation, and measuring without equipoise, what do sentient beings transmigrate into? The desire realm, the form realm, and the formless three realms, the abodes and types of realms, the conceptualization focused on the realms, and the great compassion free from that focus, are only possessed by the Bodhisattva who sees the truth. Because emptiness is connected with compassion, and claiming emptiness while separated from compassion is a Buddhist heretic, like a worm looking at the emptiness of a mustard seed.

I. Reading, holding, listening, and explaining treatises, Those who strive through hearing, thinking, and meditating, Should not be hindered, especially those who are beginners, For when one realizes that all phenomena are without inherent existence, one is mistaken. At the time when one should understand the view, Scripture and reasoning are the eyes of the view. At the time when one should experience the view, one should distinguish between mind and awareness. At the time when the view has been realized, the asceticism bound by learning is truly amazing! The view and meditation fabricated by sectarianism are truly tiresome! The path that contradicts the unconditioned is neither true nor false. Form, feeling, perception, and so on, the aggregates and elements, Do not abide in phenomena, but abide in the nature of phenomena. Although it is taught in mantra as having the aspect of the three seats, it does not touch the meaning of the Great Perfection. In the nature of the view, which is primordially pure, there is not even a little something to be viewed. With the essence and nature undiminished, by the truth, it utterly refutes the root of the falsehood of delusion. This awareness, which is primordially manifestly enlightened, those who abandon it and desire enlightenment in the mind, Without seeing that they are surrounded by the thieves of mental events, they shout that conceptual analysis is superior insight. Form is the other shore, and perception is this shore, Feeling abides in between, connecting the formations, Throwing consciousness into the depths of samsara, These sentient beings have no chance of liberation, how pitiful! In the nature of phenomena, which is primordially pure, even if the clinging to the sides of existence and non-existence is abandoned, children fabricate duality, and scholars are mistaken by clinging to oneness. If one clings in what way, then the truth is divided into two, With the words of appearance and emptiness, it is fabricated like a rabbit's horn, Clinging like a coral of the mind that desires to speak, One does not recognize the co-emergent suchness. From ignorance arises dependent origination, In the twelvefold chain, this cycle, if one does not, through inner awareness, Reverse and see the original suchness, one wanders in sound, logic, crafts, and medicine. Therefore, the phenomena of samsara and nirvana, all are neither true nor false. Not abiding in either, is the meaning of the Great Perfection, Like the nature of space, a great immeasurable palace. Desiring to realize this, and cultivating the Perfection of Wisdom, one remains on this shore of knowable objects. By leaving it in its own place, meditation is shattered, And one directly sees the suchness of the Sugata. Without effort.
