Talk Collection, Chapter Eight. A Speech to the Prince, Like the Music of Rain Clouds. Talk Collection, Chapter Eight. A Speech to the Prince, Like the Music of Rain Clouds. Named "A Speech to the Prince, Like the Music of Rain Clouds." I prostrate to the Bhagavan, the King of Glory, who is exceedingly and thoroughly clear. Utterly peaceful, the most sacred of the sacred, the realm of Dharma. The enjoyment of seven unions, the boundless world's. Although the layout is spread out, it is the nature of the truth of suffering. Not friendship, may the protector of the blissful pure land guard. 1. From the white Dharma-rich jewel island, to the heavenly. The wish-fulfilling jewel of seven virtues, of great Tibet. The Sutra Kingdom, the great palace governed by the ten virtues. Occupied by Songtsen Gampo (c. 617-650 CE), the new sprout's creeper flourishes. 2. In the garden held by Ngari (now western Tibet, China). In the thicket of sinful views, dwelling. Although there are many petty kingdoms like stars. It is far to see the world correctly. 3. The teachings of the Buddha, like the earth's surrounding, of a thousand spokes. Following the army, the four limbs proceed. The ear of the new sprout's new shoot. Makes it pleasing with the music of excellent speech. 4. This shore, not covered by beauty, a harmonious land. The sacred protector and friend, the image of good wishes. Virtuous deeds, merit, the magical royal policy. You are the nature of the four great wheels. 5. The moment the birth moon is full. Gathered in the Three Jewels, the eye of contact. The hundred doors of the light of the excellent Dharma, of faith. The play of concepts, the majestic form, how wonderful. 6. To sentient beings who rely on meager sustenance. Compassion born of the power of others. For the sake of the qualities of a trainable man. The speaker of truth, this is a Dharma talk. 7. The infinite knowledge and the unfailing retention of what is to be known. Which is the aggregate of the name and form of letters? Connecting the cognitive feeling with the meaning of words. In that concept, the action of taking and abandoning actions. By birth, discriminating, diligent in questioning and reading. 8. The excellent door of manifest high status and definite goodness. If what is to be known and what can be known arise from causes and conditions. Then rely on the gathering of excellent qualities of a virtuous spiritual friend and a virtuous friend. 9. Although fashioned like Dharma, the discrimination is covered by the stain of sin. Other than this shore, viewing the other shore as annihilation. Three men

Those who are not suitable for taming, even if they are monks or ascetics holding flags, should be expelled. 10. Like a householder's precious jewel, the one who leads the way, even if they are like quarrelers in times of dispute, should be upright, broad-minded, steadfast in will, and intelligent, and should be given the position of minister. 11. Even if you do not prevent occasional entertainment and games, avoid wasting time with children, bad friends, and laziness. In both internal and external scriptures, you should strive to gain the courage to clearly discern right from wrong. 12. Turn away from the ten non-virtuous actions and intoxicating drinks, turning your back on the door from darkness to darkness. From good living, ripening fruits, longevity, and so on, the sixteen human laws, from the door of light to light. 13. If you can well practice the human religion, in order to make the teacher, the knower of the world, and the wise and powerful ascetics famous, you should study and become familiar with various codes of law. 14. From the dust-like particles of the Dharma realm ocean of all kings, the core of the vow is the essence of bodhicitta. For those who are not hindered by family, protect the stainless reputation and liberation. 15. His wisdom cannot be concealed even by Manjushri, generating the mind of aspiration and action, born into a noble lineage and from the Great Vehicle, and also generating strength from one's own power from the collections of scriptures. 16. First, tame the mind through the four abodes of Brahma, treating all beings with equanimity, with the perception of parents, and teaching and entering the path of enlightenment for the benefit of beings, this is the door to entering the path of the Great Vehicle. 17. If the wealth of the land comes from Ngari (western Tibet), even if one-sixth of the tax is slightly lost, tolerate it, because there are no other relatives other than generosity, this is the teaching of the Great Sage. 18. The immoral discipline, even if it is an image of non-virtue, the skillful means of the princes is due to the power of emptiness and compassion, even so, respectfully observe the eight precepts. 19. The standard for measuring good and bad is to follow the law. Although the king is the religion of his own territory, do not impose the death penalty on those criminals who are tormented by ignorance and desire, but forgive them. 20. In this way, the Dharma of entering the path of enlightenment in three ways will not become a wandering person who does not keep vows, and the king's rule will not decline, as stated in the "Sutra of Admonitions to the Luminous King." 21. Realize in mind and Dharma.
