Since it is cut off, one must grasp the self-arisen awareness in that state. If one does not grasp it, like thinking "I am that, or that is me," the mind of dualistic clinging connects with the object of clinging. As it is said, "The mind of dualistic clinging is doubt," etc., it becomes the cause of wandering in the six realms, namely, the conceptual thought of grasping the grasper and the grasped. Whether it is arrogance, competitiveness, pride, desire, ignorance, and the minds and fifty-one mental factors that arise from them, since they are the cause of samsara, do not follow them, do not analyze them, do not block them with antidotes, do not engage in affirmation and negation, but leave them as they are where they arise, without modifying the mind. This is called ordinary awareness, namely: relaxation, natural abiding, naturalness, inexpressibility. In such a state, if guarded by the sentinel of mindfulness, the cause of wandering in the six realms will be exhausted, the fruit will be emptied, and the name equal to Samantabhadra will be established. Beings are confused because of the weakness of mindfulness, and because of the clinging mind that arises towards the object of grasping, they continuously wander in the six realms like a dream. Therefore, it should be understood that the boundary between samsara and nirvana lies in whether or not one recognizes one's own nature. This is a brief summary. Although the terms base, path, and fruit are well known in all dharmas, the reality of the base of Dzogchen is for the purpose of definitively establishing the division between samsara and nirvana. Therefore, do not measure (this) treatise by repetition and incompleteness. The seventeen tantras and their meaning can only be skillfully taught to others after realizing them as they are. The treatise that opens the stainless light is none other than the Supreme Vehicle Precious Treasury. This is according to the intention of the Dorje Drak (རྡོར་བྲག) (Dorje Drak Monastery, located in the Shannan area of Tibet today) incarnation, for the benefit of those of inferior capacity, the authorization to dissect the words and meanings of that treatise, done by the Longchen Space Yogi. Erased by the iron hook of the guiding commentary of the Kunsang Monlam.
