Supplication. 10. Since we are born at the very end of this degenerate age, under the control of country, time, and friends, when we see the opportunity to lose the fruit of leisure and endowment, there is no refuge other than you, Protector. 11. If we constantly pray without negligence, may we be blessed by your body, speech, and mind, showing the glory of the vajra marks and signs of your three secrets as nectar to our very eyes. 12. Especially, being strongly urged by profound renunciation, and fully knowing that the nature of samsara is false upon false, may we be blessed to never crave for places, companions, wealth, etc. 13. In order to take the essence of liberation from this rare support through examples, numbers, and reasons, may we be blessed to abandon the trifles of the tomb-like home and enter the path of the three trainings. 14. Furthermore, by properly relying on a fully qualified spiritual friend, taking the dust of his feet as the jewel on our crown, and with the sidelong glance of the blossoming flowers of the three faiths, may we be blessed to drink the nectar of ripening and liberation. 15. With the appearance of a religious practitioner, desiring gain, respect, and fame, and with an irreligious mind, burning the seeds of liberation, may we be blessed not to engage in hypocritical practices, but to strive single-mindedly for virtue. 16. When leisure and fortune are abundant, we remember the sacred Dharma; when fortune slightly declines, we approach non-virtue; ultimately, we become those whose actions are reversed, may we be blessed to turn away from improper paths. 17. Especially, may we be blessed to lull to sleep on the bed of peace the army of illusory enemies and friends that burns our own minds with the great fire of attachment and aversion, which spreads from the firewood of relatives and enemies. 18. Initially, by hearing, turning away from non-virtue; in the middle, by contemplating, understanding the general nature of Dharma; finally, with the asceticism of single-pointed meditation, may we be blessed to generate the definitive meaning in our minds. 19. Even having strived to abandon our own small home, and forsaking the hundred gates of busyness that arise from it, may we be blessed to abandon the mind that clings to the homes of others with desire, and to seek solitude single-mindedly. 20. In the delightful forests where meditation is accomplished, living purely with ascetic food and immaculate conduct, and acting according to the Dharma, may we be blessed that our three doors are never in vain. 21. Always abiding in a solitary place
