A dull-witted person does not believe in the teachings of the Dharma. Because they do not understand the benefits of discipline, concentration, and wisdom, they do not develop the desire to study the path. Because they do not understand and are ignorant, they develop doubt and hesitation. They become attached to things that should not be attached to, and they become angry at things that should not be angry at. They regard faults as virtues, they doubt things that should not be doubted, they understand beneficial things as harmful, and they regard harmful things as supreme. All evil views arise from nothing but ignorance. There are three types of views: clinging to the five aggregates as self, and clinging to places, bodies, and enjoyments as mine, is the view of the aggregates of destruction; clinging to the self as permanent or impermanent is the view of extremes; and denying the four truths of cause and effect is a wrong view. The view of destruction and the view of extremes target the self, thereby generating all other afflictions such as attachment and anger. Even if one wants to attain liberation, they will seek a wrong path and cling to it. If one denies all cause and effect due to wrong views, they will become completely black karma, such as thinking that those who become Buddhas do not have liberation, which is also a denial of the latter two truths, and will inevitably arise from the wrong path, which is also what one wants to seek. Supreme clinging: regarding evil views, the aggregates on which evil views rely, and those who proclaim them as supreme, is the clinging to views; wanting to attain liberation through discipline and evil conduct is the clinging to discipline and vows, which is a false teacher; having unwavering faith in wrong views and wrong conduct, thereby clinging to inverted means. Doubt: for example, thinking that there are gods or no gods in this place. Although there are also cases that are only included in the obscuration of knowledge, here it refers to doubting the meaning of the four truths. Merely having doubt will not generate intention and faith, and will not enter into correct acceptance and rejection. Jealousy: starting from completely clinging to one's own gains and respect, being unable to tolerate the perfections of others, and being disturbed in one's heart. Because of jealousy, one does not cherish the Dharma of acceptance and rejection, but only values one's own gains, fame, and respect, and also engages in many sinful deeds, which belongs to the category of hatred. Stinginess: feeling pleasure

Wanting to regard it as a favorable condition. Regarding food, wealth, houses, homes, land, and so on, as well as the objects of the five desires and the resources of existence, the mind is unwilling to relinquish them, always clinging tightly. Even unnecessary or slightly inferior resources are accumulated and cherished, let alone necessary and good things? What need is there to mention it? This generates many unwholesome actions and is a kind of conceptualization belonging to the category of desire. All of these also give rise to contaminated actions. Actions cause life to manifest and be accomplished, therefore always being associated with suffering. These two, jealousy and miserliness, although they are near afflictions, are shown here to be the same as the root afflictions because they are very powerful in performing unwholesome actions. As it is said: Because both are one, because that is the autonomy of unwholesomeness. From jealousy and miserliness, two fetters are separately explained. So it is said. Second, the essence is:
