Second, the essence is: Second, the essence is: Because the cause is to throw, it is also the karma immediately after that. Thus it is said. Moreover, considering that it is very important to take and abandon, nine pervasive bonds are spoken of. Likewise, in the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes: Disgust and equanimity, and seeing that very nature, view of the collection of ruins and its basis, cessation and path and the Sangha, gain and respect, and understanding through inferior equipment. Thus it is said. Moreover, if one can subdue the disgust that arises with certainty in samsara, and the aversion to the cause of suffering and the abandonment of distraction, and the mind abiding without confusion in Suchness, and the faith that arises with faith in the Three Jewels, and not being greedy for gain and respect, and not being attached to equipment, then one can easily obtain the peaceful state of definite liberation from samsara. However, the obstacles to these are the nine pervasive bonds, namely: the obstacle to disgust is the pervasive bond of attachment, the obstacle to abandonment is the pervasive bond of anger, the obstacle to knowing the view of the collection of ruins is the pervasive bond of pride, the obstacle to knowing the root aggregates of the view of the collection of ruins is the pervasive bond of ignorance, the obstacle to knowing the truth of cessation is the pervasive bond of view, the obstacle to knowing the truth of the path is the pervasive bond of holding superiority, the obstacle to knowing the qualities of the Three Jewels is the pervasive bond of doubt, the obstacle to knowing the faults of gain and respect is the pervasive bond of jealousy, and the obstacle to knowing the benefits of simple equipment is the pervasive bond of stinginess. Among them, attachment is the desire that arises from attachment to the body, enjoyment, and feelings of the three realms. If one has this, then because of attachment, one does not arise with disgust from samsara, nor does one seek nirvana, and it hinders entering the path, and it also gives rise to other afflictions such as pride, and it actually creates the karma of rebirth in the six realms, and one does not cultivate the good that is beneficial to the ultimate means, but cultivates the non-virtuous. Its virtue is only without outflows, and its non-virtue is all actions with outflows. Anger, whether it is a harmful sentient being or harm

Hatred, even if it is suffering itself, or the source of harm, such as weapons and unpleasant sounds, and cold and heat, etc., all of these are unpleasant to the mind, a torment that is displeasing to the heart, that is, this has harmed me, is harming, and will harm. It has harmed my friends, etc., is harming, and will harm. It has helped my enemies, is helping, and will help. Thus, not abandoning the harmful thoughts arising from the nine causes of torment, wanting to harm others, and wanting to harm others, etc., always combining with contaminated actions, always making body and mind uncomfortable. Just like this: If you hold a heart of hatred and stinging, the mind will not experience peace, nor will you obtain joy and happiness, you will not fall asleep and become unstable. It is said like this. Pride is, observing others, whether they are superior, inferior, or middling, considering one's own status, body, enjoyment, qualities, etc., as good, and feeling satisfied in the heart through seeing oneself as superior or equal to others, etc. Pride also has divisions such as the seven types. If there is pride, one will not know the faults of clinging to self and what belongs to self, and will especially kill others, etc. Qualities will not increase more and more, and one will not pay homage to the holy ones, and one will be associated with contaminated actions. Just like this: Pride leads to bad migrations, destroys the joyous feasts of humans, becomes a slave who eats the food of others, becomes foolish, ugly, weak, and will be despised in all places. It is said like this. Ignorance is, merely not knowing some of the distinctions of knowable things is not a defilement. This is the opposite of wisdom and knowledge, therefore, it is complete ignorance of the reality of the four truths such as karma and the Three Jewels, from which arise the four inversions, etc., and all other defilements. As it is said: Therefore, the root of faults is said to be ignorance. It is said like this. Furthermore, because one does not know that sinful actions have faults, one engages in them. Because one does not know that virtuous actions have benefits, one does not want to engage in them. Because one does not know the qualities of the Three Jewels, joyful faith does not arise. Because one does not understand the scriptures of the Dharma,
