The Root Teachings of the Six Great Volumes Ztsa10《Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning》 《Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning》 Sanskrit: Yuktiṣaṣṭikākārikānāma. Tibetan: 《Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning》 Homage to Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta! For those whose arising and ceasing, have been abandoned by this method. I pay homage to the Mighty Sage (Shakyamuni Buddha) who taught dependent origination! Who transcends the wisdom of existence and non-existence, and does not abide in either? They fully understand the meaning of causality with profound, objectless awareness. Now, first, completely refute 'non-existence', the source of all faults. Please listen to what reasoning can refute 'existence'. If things were real as children distinguish, Then, who would not want to be liberated because of the non-existence of things? Because 'existence' cannot liberate, and 'non-existence' cannot escape samsara. Completely understanding 'existence' and 'non-existence', the great self can be liberated. Those who have not seen the truth will think there is samsara and nirvana. But those who have seen the truth do not think there is samsara and nirvana. Samsara and nirvana, these two are not 'existence'. Completely understanding samsara itself is called nirvana. Regarding the arising and destruction of things, just like examining how to cut off. Similarly, the noble ones also think that cessation is like illusion. Cessation can only be achieved through complete destruction, not through complete understanding of conditioned phenomena. For whom is this directly perceived? If one knows destruction, what will it become? If the aggregates do not cease, even if the afflictions cease, one will not be liberated. When the aggregates cease here, then one can be liberated. For things that arise from ignorance as a cause, observe with correct wisdom. Whether it is arising or ceasing, it will not become an object of focus. This is nirvana in this life, and it is also the completion of what should be done. If there is a difference in the order of understanding the Dharma, Then, for extremely subtle things, who can distinguish its arising? The unskilled person has not seen the meaning of arising from causes. If the afflictions of a monk who has ceased, and samsara has completely ceased, Then, why do the fully enlightened Buddhas not speak of his actions? If action exists, then it will surely become a view. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please explain, in the law of dependent origination, which comes first and which comes later? How do things that arise first come to be, and how do they return to their previous state? Free from the extremes of beginning and end, beings appear like illusions. When do illusions arise? And when do illusions disappear? Those who understand illusions are not confused, while those who do not understand illusions are completely attached. If one can perceive life as like a mirage or an illusion with wisdom, one will not be misled by the views of beginning and end. Some people observe the arising and ceasing of conditioned phenomena. These people are bound by the wheel of dependent origination and cannot understand the turning of the wheel. The phenomena that arise in dependence on something else are not born from themselves. If they are not born from themselves, how can they be said to be born? Extinction due to the exhaustion of causes is considered extinction. If there is no extinction in nature, how can it be called extinction? Therefore, nothing truly arises, and nothing truly ceases. The phenomena of arising and ceasing are shown for a purpose. Understanding arising leads to understanding ceasing, and understanding ceasing leads to understanding impermanence. If one can understand the principle of impermanence, one can realize the supreme Dharma. Those who can understand the law of dependent origination and are free from arising and ceasing can cross the ocean of samsara. Ordinary people are attached to reality and have inverted perceptions of existence and non-existence. Those who are controlled by sins and afflictions are deceived by their own minds. Those who are proficient in reality will recognize that all phenomena are impermanent, deceptive, accumulative and empty, selfless, and see them as tranquil. There is nowhere to dwell, no object, no foundation, no abode. It arises from the cause of ignorance, free from beginning, middle, and end. Like a banana tree without a heart, like a mirage-like city. Ignorant beings appear like illusions. What is considered true by the world, such as Brahma, is said to be false by the noble ones. What else is there to say besides this? The world is blinded by ignorance, chasing after the river of desire. How can the merits of the wise, who are free from desire, be compared? In the initial stage of seeking truth, it should be said that everything exists. Only by understanding all phenomena and being unattached can one ultimately attain the state of tranquility. Those who do not understand the meaning of tranquility and only remain at the level of hearing, those who do not accumulate merit, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
