Its spontaneous radiance, the inseparability of Kaya and wisdom, like the light of a lamp inside a vase, the radiance clear in the expanse of the sky, light and Bindus appearing clearly and subtly like a string of pearls, this symbolizes the five Kayas. The wisdom of awareness manifests as Vairocana. Its immutability is Akshobhya. The increasing clarity is Ratnasambhava. Limitless light is Amitabha. Effortlessly and spontaneously perfected is Amoghasiddhi, one sees the faces of the Buddhas of the five families. Clarity without clinging is the path, and perfecting familiarity is attaining the result, as stated in the Tantra: One's own awareness arises as the five Kayas, Vairocana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava appear, Amitabha, Amoghasiddhi appear. The five wisdoms are: From before the separation of Samsara and Nirvana, the Dharma nature of awareness-wisdom, stainless and luminous, is the Mirror-like Wisdom. The inseparability of luminosity and essence is the Wisdom of Equality. The clear manifestation without mixing distinctions is the Discriminating Wisdom. The spontaneous accomplishment without effort is the Accomplishing Wisdom. The primordial emptiness, devoid of root, is the Wisdom of Dharmadhatu, the nature of the five wisdoms. To be undistracted by the meaning of luminosity, to have unbiased appearance, to have clear appearance without clinging, without needing difficulty, and to abide in a state of non-meditation and non-cultivation is the path. Its ultimate perfection is the result. As stated in the root Tantra: Mirror-like Wisdom, Wisdom of Equality, Discriminating Wisdom, Accomplishing Wisdom, Wisdom of Dharmadhatu. The five families are: The nature of the great luminosity-emptiness, immutable, is the Vajra family. The perfect abundance of qualities is the Ratna family. The untainted appearance is the Padma family. The complete accomplishment of these familiarities is the Karma family. This is the footprint of all Buddhas, therefore it is the Tathagata family. Abiding in this state of familiarity is the path, and attaining ultimate perfection is the result. As stated in the Self-Arisen Tantra: The Tathagata family and, the Vajra family and the Ratna family, the Padma family and the Karma family.

White because of being without impurity, yellow because of perfect qualities, red because of being uncreated, green because of accomplished activity, blue because of unchanging stability, these five abide therein. Abiding in that is the path, ultimate is the result. In the tantra it says: The qualities of awareness are clear as five lights. The five winds are: This appearance of clear light is not separate from the warmth of wisdom, hence the wind equal to fire; holding the life of samsara and nirvana, hence the life-holding wind; separating the pure and impure of samsara and nirvana, hence the separating wind; pervading all equally, hence the pervasive wind; cutting off the life of samsara and causing liberation from sorrow, hence the merciless aeon wind, these are the five. Familiarity is the path and ultimate is the result. In Rangshar it says: Awareness is the nature of the five winds, abiding in all sentient beings. The five wisdoms are: The nature of clear light, separating samsara and nirvana based on whether or not it is realized, hence the discriminating wisdom; the power of wisdom gathering appearances, hence the gathering wisdom; pervading all, hence the pervasive wisdom; clear appearances with coming and going, hence the moving wisdom; if that is realized, then liberating from samsara, hence the liberating wisdom, these five abide therein. Familiarizing with that and reaching the ultimate is the path and the result. In that same text it says: That too is the essence of awareness, endowed with five aspects of wisdom. The five dakinis are: Because clear light appears as blue and other colors, the faces of the five Buddhas such as Buddha Ḍākki are seen, the five afflictions such as ignorance are purified, and the five wisdoms such as the wisdom of dharmadhatu are touched. All of that is the basis, familiarizing with each individually is the path, ultimate is the result. In the tantra it says: The wisdom of empty-clear awareness abides in five aspects of dakinis. Thus, the five groups are also taught together in that same tantra: From the self-arisen power of self-awareness, the five bodies and the five wisdoms, the five families, the five lights, and the five winds, abide in the five wisdoms and so forth. In short, the dharmata that abides in that way is not a mental construct fabricated by the mind, nor is it a mental image conceived by the mind through the experience of emptiness and form arising from the interdependence of grasping and striving for the channels and winds, but it is seen as the self-nature of the primordially accomplished appearance-experience dharmata, the unmistaken manifest reality. That too is the nature of space, primordially pure empty clarity combined.
