The path, its ultimate is the fruit. The root tantra says: "Mirror-like wisdom, equality, discriminating awareness, accomplishing activity, dharmadhatu, and wisdom." Thus it is. The five families are: The essence of great luminosity and emptiness is immutable, hence the Vajra family. Qualities are perfectly complete, hence the Ratna family. Appearances are unstained, hence the Padma family. Those who are accustomed to it accomplish without remainder, hence the Karma family. This itself is the trace of all Buddhas, hence the Tathagata family. Accustoming oneself to that state is the path, the ultimate is the fruit. Self-arisen says: "The Tathagata family and the Vajra family, the Ratna family and the Padma family, and the Karma family." Thus it is. The five lights are: Those lights of luminosity are stainless, hence white. Qualities are complete, hence yellow. Not sought, but abiding, hence red. Activity and ability are complete, hence green. Immutable and stable, hence blue, thus abiding as five. Abiding in that state is the path, the ultimate is the fruit. The tantra says: "The qualities of awareness are clear as five lights." Thus it is. The five winds are: This appearance of luminosity is inseparable from the warmth of wisdom, hence the wind equal to fire. Holding the life of samsara and nirvana, hence the life-holding wind. Separating the pure and impure of samsara and nirvana, hence the separating wind. Spreading equally to all, hence the pervasive wind. Cutting off the life of samsara and causing transcendence of suffering, hence the merciless Kalpa Karma wind, and five. Accustoming is the path, the ultimate is the fruit. Self-arisen says: "In the nature of the five winds of awareness, it abides in all sentient beings." The five wisdoms are: The dharmata of luminosity, separating samsara and nirvana by realization and non-realization, hence the discriminating wisdom. The power of wisdom, gathering appearances, hence the gathering wisdom. Pervading all, hence the pervasive wisdom. Clear appearances with coming and going, hence the moving wisdom. If that nature is realized, it liberates from samsara, hence the liberating wisdom, thus abiding as five. That accustoming and ultimate is the path and the fruit. That nature says: "That also, on the essence of awareness, possesses five aspects of wisdom." Thus it is. The five dakinis are: Luminosity appearing as blue and so on as five, hence seeing the faces of the five Buddhas and so on. Eliminating the five afflictions such as delusion, touching the five wisdoms such as dharmadhatu wisdom, all that is the basis. Accustoming individually is the path, the ultimate is the fruit.

Therefore, the tantra says, "The wisdom of empty-clear awareness abides in the five forms of dakinis." Thus it is said. Likewise, the five aggregates are shown as one. In that same tantra it says, "From the self-arisen power of awareness, the five bodies and the five wisdoms, the five families, the five lights, and the five winds, abide in the five wisdoms and so forth." In short, the dharmata that abides in this way is not a mental construct of conceptual thought, nor is it the empty form of sensory experience that arises from the interdependent effort of holding the channels and winds, nor is it a mental image contemplated by the mind. Rather, it is seen as the nature of the primordially accomplished appearances, experiences, and dharmata, the very nature of unmistaken direct perception. That is, the nature of space, primordially pure, empty-clear, and uncompounded, is wisdom; the nature of awareness, the dharmata, the appearance of great luminosity, is skillful means. It abides in a state of inseparable appearance and emptiness, spontaneously present from the beginning. And that appearance is not a phenomenon of deceptive compounded samsara, but the ultimate uncompounded dharmata, the unchanging reality. These luminous appearances are not like worldly illusions. As the Jeweled Casket says, "The nature of space is the wisdom body; the nature of awareness is the skillful means body; they abide in a state of inseparability." And as the Root Tantra says, "The nature of awareness is a string of pearls. In the past, future, and present, it is not made by anyone. Therefore, it is uncompounded, the very nature of a string of pearls. All conceptual thoughts are pure. The unerring ground is the Buddha. For the fortunate one who relies on direct perception, there is no name for the three realms of samsara. Therefore, the life force of the three existences is cut off." And as the Lamp That Illuminates says, "These various appearances are not made or brought about by steps. They have been abiding as the ground from the very beginning. In such a yogi who has gained certainty, there is no mind of joy because of appearances. The way of abiding is like that from the beginning. The sounds of earth, water, fire, and wind cannot destroy the appearance of the lamp of awareness. A person who is not initiated cannot see it, even if they look with a clear lamp, a mirror, or empty, pure eyes. It cannot be found even if it is examined with philosophical tenets and meditation.

Unfabricated. The appearance like the world is not an illusion. By desire, hatred, and ignorance, that itself is primordially unobscured. What appears to oneself, is also not to be examined by wisdom. Even if those tantras, agamas, and instructions are investigated, that itself is not seen. Hell, animals, hungry ghosts, and the appearances of the six realms are oneself. It is not specially accomplished, but it has appeared that way from the beginning. It does not arise from the effort of a person. That is the mandala, that is the deity itself. That mantra, mudra, and offering, that generation and completion stage, are the Buddha, sentient beings, samsara, and nirvana. Empowerment, vows, and samaya are the guru and deity of oneself. As it is said, primordially unmade, self-arisen, self-appearing, the great indivisible three bodies, the mandala of clear light, is to see the face. Thus, it is introduced. Introducing directly to awareness.
