Ngak Jang. Ngak Jang. Expansion. iv8 Expansion on external appearance. The second is speech practice: From the Abhisamayalankara: Speech abides as "Hum" (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), expansion and diligent practice, by gently seeking to enter the path, thus speech practice benefits the mind. As it is said, expansion, diligent practice, gentle seeking, and entering the path are the four. The first also has two aspects, outer and inner. The first, expansion on external appearance, is: In a secluded place, sit in the lotus position, and meditate on a blue Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) at the heart center. Simultaneously, recite Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) in a melodious and prolonged manner. From the Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) at the heart center, countless Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum)s arise continuously. Visualize that the exterior and interior of houses, cities, regions, and even the unfathomable universe are filled with Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum)s, making a "shik shik mer mer" sound, and that all appearances of the stable and moving dissolve into Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum)s, flashing brilliantly. Concentrate the three, breath, appearance and consciousness, into one with Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), and recite with lips barely touching, imagining the natural sound of Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) resounding like the collapse of a beehive, making a "ti ri ri" sound. By repeatedly and undistractedly expanding in this way, all appearances become a sign of the expansion of Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), and all appearances become blurred and manifest as the nature of Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum). Through this, external appearances will be liberated into non-inherent existence. Expansion on the inner aggregates. The second, expansion on the inner aggregates, is: As before, by uttering a prolonged Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), all the external Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum)s arise one after another in succession. All enter the body through the sense gates. Visualize that the entire inside of the body is filled, purifying the flesh, blood, and internal organs until they are indistinguishable, and by holding the breath, as a sign of the aggregates expanding with Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), the inside of the body is filled with Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), making a "mer re hrong nge" sound, and a feeling of discomfort arises. Through this, the elements of the body are purified, and the heavy aggregates will be liberated into the uncontaminated. Diligent practice. Diligent practice on external appearance is: The second, diligent practice, also has two aspects, outer and inner. The first, diligent practice on external appearance, is: By uttering the sound of Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) sharply and briefly with force, from the Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) at the heart center, a dark blue Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) arises, sharp and swift, endowed with power, its size corresponding to the object it pierces, spreading like lightning. Whatever appears as an object of contact, such as mountains and rocks, is destroyed upon mere touch.

Now, like a bamboo tube, visualize the body as being transparent inside and out, without any obstructions or gaps. The sign of achieving this state is that all external appearances become clear and bright, and although there are obstructions, one will experience their selflessness. In this way, one can understand that all appearances are unreal, and it will become like a rainbow of bliss, clarity, and self-liberation. Training the Inner Body. Second, training the inner body: Similarly, from the syllable (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) emanate a (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable as tall as a thumb, and visualize the body as being transparent inside and out, with the front, back, top, and bottom all transparent like a bamboo tube, without any gaps, thereby becoming clear and bright. The sign of achieving this state is that one will feel the body becoming light and transparent, the muscles of the body will pulsate and swell like bubbles, the body will appear like the moon's reflection in water, and one will experience its selflessness. In this way, one can pacify the diseases and demons of the inner body, and will be liberated into a rainbow body of clear light. Searching for Suppleness. Third, searching for suppleness: Place a branch or something similar in front as an image or object of focus. Recite the syllable (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) in a pleasant voice, and from the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable in the heart, continuously emanate a chain of (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllables. Starting from the base of the object of focus, gradually wrap it with the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable, and when it reaches the top, focus your awareness on the previous (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable that stands like a spear, and slowly sing the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable song. Then, like a snake uncoiling, dismantle it and merge one into the other, focus on the state of becoming one (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable, and remain for a while. When feeling weary, visualize it merging back into the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable in the heart, or like a snake uncoiling, immediately enter one after the other, completely gathering into the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable in the heart, and rest. In this way, uniting the three—wind, mind, and the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable—through repeated practice of going out and returning in, when the path is clear and the state is achieved, the body will feel like it is sliding off the bed, appearing about to fall. The noise of thoughts subsides, awareness becomes clear and bright, and one will feel liberated. Having obtained the merit of taming the mind extremely, one will be able to transform the object of focus at will. Entering the Path. Fourth, entering the path: By reciting the syllable (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ), visualize your body, wind, and mind as being integrated into a square filled with blue (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllables, and then enter the path like a demoness walking, making the sound of the (ཧཱུྃ, हूं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) syllable at the bends, and turning back and forth, reaching the mountain or place within sight, reaching the distance that the eye can see, reaching a certain object.
