Keep the night calm. The more you sleep, the stronger your body becomes, and the more it recovers and expands. During the day, gradually control and meditate. Just like on the first day, meditate once in the morning for a duration equivalent to half the distance of an arrow shot with a normal stride. Meditate once in the afternoon as well. Then, until ten days, add one meditation session each day. If a minor illness occurs, reduce the number of meditation sessions, or use other methods to calm it immediately. Do not endure and meditate. If there is no illness, meditate as described above. In this way, you will gradually understand the limits of the body. Regarding this, there are four stages of the arising of mind: The first is that even if you try very hard, you will forget the count and wander off, and the order will also be confused. The second is that you will not forget the count, and the order will not be confused. The third is that the count and order will not be confused, and most of the tangible things related to dependent origination will appear. The fourth is that you strive to make tangible things appear clearly, and they will appear regardless of the degree of effort, and intangible things are also very certain. Whatever you focus on, you will feel comfortable and will not want to fall, feeling happy and filled with joy in your heart. So, in what way can the mind abide in dependent origination? Like this, the yogi should always rely on and become accustomed to dependent origination. Through repeated practice, whether it is the cause or the place, impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness will appear more and more, and there will be no notions of permanence, happiness, self, and purity, nor will there be signs of universal delusion, and dharmas that are in accordance with universal delusion. Regarding this, the method of reliance is to reduce the number of meditation sessions after knowing that the mind has settled, but to slightly lengthen the duration of meditation. Meditate in the evening and at dawn as well. Do not strive more than the degree of clarity you had before. The distinction is that because actions arise from ignorance in the previous life, these two cause many of this life's consciousness from entering the womb to existence.

From accepting this life to the state of existence, it is made the cause of the future. That from the future, the first entering into the womb is birth. Then gradually arise aging and so on. That again produces ignorance and action. That again connects the continuum in the future. Therefore, one thinks that it enters continuously like the flow of the wind. Until the body is tired, or the mind is exhausted, or just meditating feels scared, or a sound comes out, or the head feels heavy, or it sways, or trembles, or sleeps lightly at night, or food is not fragrant, or verbal errors increase, and so on, meditate until a slight sign of discomfort appears. When that happens, rest. Massage the body. Nourish the tired body with food and drink that is in accordance with the Dharma. Until the body recovers, day and night, whenever you want to meditate, meditate for short periods of time. After the strength is increased, meditate continuously in the evening and at dawn. Meditate three times during the day, and also make aspirations and so on, with compassion as the leader. Among them, what is abandoning wrong thoughts? Because it is dependent arising, thinking that there is self-nature is wrong thought. As the noble Nagarjuna said: Relying on the Buddha's path, all those who say impermanence, with arguments, slander things, where is the permanent abode. Thus it is said. Dependent arising is the Buddha's path. Therefore, because all things are dependently arising, there is no self-nature in the ultimate truth, such as an illusion. One should follow what is said in this way. The way of action is inconceivable, but the master will not be foolish. However, because I do not pursue meaning, and have not heard the teachings of the wise, I have written these after considering the benefits. It is like a person with blurred vision looking at things and then showing others saying what this is. I ask the wise for forgiveness. By means of counting dependent arising, I have written a little about the method of settling the mind, it is completed. The method of settling the mind by counting dependent arising.
