Zinc vitriol. The six kinds of Kuṇḍīkā Śrīka. The best of gold and vāla, etc., are refined with effort by the wise. The wise should know their function. The function of gold lies in vāla, its color being yellow and white. Bright like Sauvīra, Kāṃguṣṭha each matures separately. The characteristics of these will be explained. After refining, the sap drips. The sap of lustrous wood is white. The sharp ones become extremely sharp. Red copper is red and hard. The types are divided into three, that from Nepal (year uncertain, modern Nepal) is the best. That which becomes leaf-like is considered the middle. The lowest is known as the stain of luster. The function is to mix well. After refining, it is beneficial for pervading and the maturation of mercury. Lead should be known to be black and white. Its nature is wood sap. The best lead has a scent. When gathered, it is black and melts quickly. Due to its nature of melting quickly, it is widely known as white. Chalcanthite is gold-colored, absorbs dirt and has a scent.
