A discourse on revering the speaker of the Dharma and listening to the Holy Dharma. Sa Atsho Jyin. A discourse on revering the speaker of the Dharma and listening to the Holy Dharma. Sa Atsho Jyin. In Indian language: Satya-kritya-dharma-vacani-siddhir-mishra-vaka-katha. In Tibetan: A discourse on revering the speaker of the Dharma and listening to the Holy Dharma. Homage to youthful Manjushri! The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who shine and illuminate like refined gold, kanika flowers, and the light of the rising sun, possessing vast and immeasurable light, immaculate and pure like the full moon of the fifteenth day, like blooming champaka flowers and ashoka flowers, surpassing the light of beryl, indranila, diamond, red copper, lotus, and lightning, the Bhagavat possessing the light of excellent gold, the lord of the three realms, adorned with a multitude of immeasurable qualities, a collection of precious jewels. Those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are protectors, are teachers, are lords of the Dharma, endowed with conduct, acting without harm in body, speech, and mind. Possessing the ten powers, unshaken by the four fearlessnesses, the best of the best, roaring the lion's roar, praised by Ishvara, Near-Ishvara, Fierce One, Vishnu, Yama, the water deity, the decaying body, the sun, the asuras, garudas, gandharvas, kinnaras, mahoragas, yakshas, rakshasas, flesh-eaters, kumbhandas, and vidyadharas. Having attained the mindfulness of supreme meditation through loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, particularly devoted to mindfulness, the bases of miraculous power, and right abandonments. Demonstrating the spheres of dominance, the spheres of exhaustion, emptiness, and the noble eightfold path, truly urging with great compassion, possessing light surpassing that of gold, silver, crystal, jewels, beryl, diamond, indranila, and moonlight.

In this Dharma spoken and subsequently taught by the Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni and others, O monks, it is like this: sometimes there is a gathering and assembly for the teaching of the Dharma and the discussion of the Dharma. Having assembled, one should abide by one of the two activities, either engaging in the discussion of the Dharma or abiding in the silence of the noble ones. Among these, becoming a discussion endowed with the noble Dharma and becoming the silence of the noble ones, these two will certainly become the cause of goodness, because there will be no regret afterwards, and in order to cut off doubts, one must certainly grasp with strength, therefore it is said thus. The Bhagavan taught and spoke thus: O monks, these two persons generate much merit, uproot the root of evil, wage war with the Maras, overthrow the banner of Mara, raise the banner of Dharma, and turn the wheel of the Dharma of the Tathagata. Which are the two? Those who respectfully teach the Dharma, and those who respectfully listen to the Dharma here. Therefore, you should respectfully teach the Dharma and respectfully listen to the Dharma with respect for the lamas. The appearance of the Tathagatas is rare, being born as a human is extremely rare, having leisure and endowments is rare, and having faith in the teachings of the Tathagata is rare. Therefore, one should listen to the Dharma with respect after thoroughly examining the faults of samsara. What is the reason for this? Here it should be said that the excellent Dharma will surely disappear, it will be separated from the light of the Dharma, the light of wisdom will completely disappear, one will not encounter virtuous friends, the time of great destruction is near, and one should know that one will associate with beings who do not possess the Dharma, and then listen to the Dharma with respect. After a little while, the ship of the Dharma will be destroyed, the mountain of wisdom will collapse, the sun of the Dharma will set, the river of the Dharma will dry up, it will be emptied by the discussion of the Dharma, the rope of the senses will be cut, the flowers of the seven branches of enlightenment will wither, and the ocean of the scriptures will
