do. When sleeping, lying on your back allows the days and nights to pass. I have never seen suffering and misery like semen flowing on the ground. Unable to rise from a sitting position, unable to lie down, stand, or walk. Sitting, the body is unstable, unable to take a single step. Unable to express one's own meaning with words, mistakes occur in body and speech. Involuntarily maintaining life, alas, old age is truly painful. Experiencing much suffering in the womb for a long time, yet it is not seen. The state of death is not something that familiar people can see with their eyes. Conquered by arrogant joy, at gatherings, hundreds and thousands of men and women, eyes become targets, like a rain of arrows falling, extremely miserable. When thirsty, drinking cool, fragrant beverages. When hungry and miserable, eating rice with meat. When tormented by the fire of desire, tightly embracing a young wife. People perversely think that eliminating illness is happiness. Some people live long by eating little, while others are obviously happy to eat a lot. Difficulty breathing, suffering, dying from incompatible foods. Indigestion causes illness, and digestion leads to hunger. Alas, if eating did not produce suffering, that would be impossible. Good trees are no different from fire when they are burning. The world sighs and calls it fire, and completely avoids it. Similarly, when experiencing great suffering in the body, one does not distinguish that this is suffering, that the body is experiencing it, and does not accept it. Unclean, full of stench, surrounded by hundreds and thousands of worms. Experiencing unparalleled suffering, like being fumigated with the heat of the earth. Living in the mother's womb, like a prison without light. When born, it is also like this, so why are you still deluded? Just as dogs greedily gnaw on dry, hard, tasteless bones. Their own saliva is covered with blood, and they think it is delicious. Similarly, for the extremely terrifying collection called the body, foolish people, with their own thoughts, fabricate hundreds and thousands of virtues, and rejoice in them. Fleshy and full...

The breasts are round, completely embraced by the thought of breasts; the mouth is filled with saliva, drinking like a vessel filled with alcohol; because of attachment to the craving for touch, clinging to the impure and moist path, what is displeasing to beings blinded by great ignorance? Smearing the body with fecal dirt and fragrant threads resembling the smell of a corpse; striving to keep the teeth white, but the mouth emits an unpleasant odor. Wrapping the whole body in clothes, doing this to conceal extreme ugliness; because this body is terrifying, I speak to and admonish the young woman. Not listening to trustworthy words, and not contemplating oneself, it is very fitting to say that you have no ears and no heart. Not sensing the moist, terrifying, and ugly body odor, why not say what kind of being you are? Very clean silk and fragrant flowers, honey and saffron, whatever they touch, they immediately become impure. From the nine wounds, constantly dripping impure, foul-smelling mucus, for such a body, how can you consider yourself fortunate, how can you arise pride here? Regarding these five aggregates, observing them as a place and the possessor of a place, clinging to what is without self and what belongs to self as "I" and "mine." This ignorant world, like a wilderness tormented by thirst, wanting to drink the bubbles of mirage water, is like such a thought. I should be permanent and experience happiness and suffering, but for the body's only place, the thought of "mine" arises in vain. Sons, wives, and livestock, etc., these are all raised by others, how can they be considered mine? This is truly the power of ignorance. It arises from causes and conditions, and its existence also depends on its own conditions, aging with time, dying due to the exhaustion of lifespan and merit, etc. Not having control over birth, not having control over aging, not having control over death, how shameful it would be to say that a wife is mine! What is always independent, what is purely happy, what one would never abandon even for a moment, that can be called "mine." This body is not under one's control, and suffering is also disgusting and one wants to abandon it, then, what is there to be attached to in seeing this body?

What kind of manifest clinging should be transformed here? To think of permanence in impermanence, to rejoice in happiness in suffering. To cling to the impure body as being mostly pure. Having completely removed the dust of clinging to self in what is without self, Effort should be made to realize the unborn, unceasing, deathless, and permanent state. This is the teaching that eliminates the four perversions. By the virtue I have accumulated from doing this, May all beings in the three realms, Be liberated in mind from the four perversions! The teaching on abandoning the four perversions, composed by the teacher Mati Citra, is complete. It was translated, revised, and finalized by the Indian Abbot Buddhabhadra and the revising translator, the monk Rinchen Zangpo. The teaching on abandoning the four perversions.
