Talks on Accumulation. Dignāga. Talks on Accumulation. Dignāga. In Sanskrit: Saṃbhāraparikathā. In Tibetan: Talks on Accumulation. Homage to Mañjuśrī, the lord of speech! Today, I, with merit and wisdom, what is accumulated? How to benefit others? The Bodhisattva thinks again and again. The nature of merit is great wisdom, by what will the accumulation be perfected? How will benefiting others be accomplished? This should be well explained. By what body and life, should be given to all sentient beings. To all embodied beings, love and compassion, should pervade. The ripening of all sins, desiring to manifest in one's own continuum, rejoicing in all merits, contemplating the great nature of the Buddha. Thus, again and again, this should be done, this is another ritual. With the mind of enlightenment as the forerunner, all actions should be done. With such a method, without the labor of action, immeasurable merit and wisdom, will increase again and again. For the enjoyment of sentient beings, and for the sake of complete protection, one's own body and life, should be given as desired. Hunger, thirst, fatigue, and heat and cold, like the antidote to wind and rain, other than the supreme offering, what happiness is experienced here, delightful mansions as the foundation, belonging to pure and peaceful places, whatever happiness is attained, by the attainment of meditative bliss, whatever state of happiness is attained, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats, who are extremely tamed and peaceful, this is bestowed closely to all sentient beings without distinction, mostly when equality is not established, thus relying on love, When equality is established, I realize, joy and extreme taming, like the sun, experiencing, likewise, with increased interest in others. These beings are submerged in the river of suffering and its causes, those who go to happiness and those who go to bliss, should be examined with diligence and compassion. Among them, especially the hells, with many unbearable sufferings, and for a long time, without ceasing, burned by cutting and blazing fire, and from being boiled and cooked, extremely afflicted, greatly increasing, like ash water, extremely boiling, burning and cooking.

Like a plague, it is depressing. Animals hate and kill each other, Due to involuntary slaughter and so on, Constantly tormented by suffering, Mostly similar to hells. Pretas are surrounded by chains of flames, Shouting loudly. Some have flames burning in their mouths, others have Throats as thin as needle eyes, but stomachs as big as mountains. Constantly suffering from hunger, thirst, and so on, Their bodies are burned and withered. Some eat vomit, Others find even that hard to come by. All the sufferings of the lower realms, Seem to exist among humans as well. The torment of suffering is like hell, The poor are like the attendants of Yama. The suffering of animals here is also, The powerful oppress and harm the powerless with violence, Like a continuous river. Some suffering comes from poverty, Others from not knowing contentment. Endless seeking brings unbearable pain, Everything is full of strife and killing. Those gods who indulge in pleasure, Have no peace in their hearts, Because desire spreads like a plague, They are burned by the fire within. Those whose minds are distracted, Where can they find happiness? Even for a moment, if the mind is not distracted, It is not without autonomy. The nature of consciousness is distraction and agitation, So it can never be calm, Like a fire fueled by the wind, Devouring the wood. Extremely greedy, but in the end, Unable to control themselves, they fall into extreme sadness. Gods and humans are greedy for the pleasures of the gods, Clinging tightly to lovely desires. Due to the merits accumulated in the past, They are tormented by the delusion of desire. They also constantly generate various afflictions, And sinful actions never cease. Ultimately falling, one should have compassion for the heedless. Like a patient who has not recovered for long, Eating unsuitable food. Whether in the form realm or the formless realm, Transcending suffering and suffering, Possessing the blissful nature of samadhi, Abiding in kalpas without wavering. But that is not true liberation, They will fall again. From the waves of suffering in the lower realms, Seeming to be liberated, but in reality, they will fall again. Even if they try, how long can it last? Like a bird flying in the sky. Like an arrow shot by a child with all his strength, It will eventually fall. Like a long-burning butter lamp, Extinguished moment by moment.
