Saying such words, hearing and speaking to all, wherever I dwell, gods come, and I also go before them. Likewise, Gandharvas, Rakshasas, Nagas, Yakshas with large bellies, flesh-eating Yakshas, and non-humans, saying things like "I have seen," and so on. Samadhi, immeasurable superknowledges, the fruits such as Stream-enterer, and even those who have entered the path, if one says, "I have attained," then it is a false statement regarding the meaning. Possessing the nature of having attained special qualities, without diminishing and without arrogance, if one speaks, the ascetic practice will be ruined. Except for the attainment of special qualities, all other false words, all of those will increase sin. By that, one will fall into lower realms. Just as one separates friends, one should not speak divisive words. One should not speak in gatherings, nor should one speak harsh words. Do not say evil words, nor should one scold back. Do not expose faults, nor should one retaliate. Do not strike back when struck. The wise who desire to learn should diligently abandon the faults of speech. Knowing that it will change in this way, all speech should be greatly restrained. Grains mixed with fermentation and so on, the category of drinks, grain alcohol. Trees, flowers, fruits, mixed juices, boiled alcohol. Knowing that it causes intoxication, those who keep vows and desire benefit should not drink it. If one drinks it, one will lose mindfulness, and those who have ascetic practices will become shameless. From shamelessness, ascetic practice is ruined. Therefore, remember the Buddha's words. Increasing intoxication and faults, one should not drink even with a blade of grass. Singing, dancing, and cymbals, those who abide in vows should not do. One should not apply perfume to the body. One should not apply sandalwood and so on. One should not paint with colors such as turmeric and saffron. Ascetics should not wear flowers, head ornaments, and garlands. One should not adorn oneself with ornaments such as gold. One should not apply eye medicine such as smoke between the eyes. One should not sleep on a wooden bed that is a cubit high, or on a bed adorned with coral and so on, even if it is low, or on a good sleeping mat. Singing, dancing, and other displays, and whatever causes pride to arise, having abandoned the limbs of pride, it is said to be abiding in ascetic practice.

From after midday, until dawn has not appeared, that is said by the Victor (Buddha) to be the wrong time. A disciplined person should not eat there. From dawn appearing until midday, during that time, eating is knowing one's own discipline, it is eating at an edible time. If one perceives the wrong time as the right time, then one should never eat. If a doctor advises due to afflictions, the patient will not incur fault. Sa le sbraM is gold, and what is called silver is silver itself. If patrons offer those, ascetics should not accept them. With this unsuitable item, thinking 'I will seek a suitable item,' having clearly thought in that way, then have another person fetch it. For the sake of the Three Jewels, and those who act like Brahma, even if they touch gold and silver, there will be no fault. Saying that desire is an obstacle, that which was said by the Fully Awakened One, do not say that it will not be an obstacle, foolish novice, do not speak. If you speak like that, separate from all the possessions of the Sangha, and expel them from the monastery. Then they will become like a corpse. Swinging and making horse-like noises, etc., should not be done, thinking of death. When yawning, one should diligently cover one's mouth with one's hand, etc. When an elder sneezes, one should bow, and say to a younger person, 'May you be without illness.' If a householder sneezes, one should say, 'May you live long.' In the presence of the lama, one should not discard snot and saliva, nor should one chew on a toothbrush. Likewise, one should not sit on a cushion. One should not bend over in front, nor should one stretch out one's legs. Towards elders and other disciplined individuals, one should act with respect and reverence. If one washes one's hands cleanly, the vase, etc., should be free of dust. Water should also be completely filtered, and after examining it, one should take what is suitable. One should not stay in a place that has not been designated. One should not sit on the Sangha's bedding, etc., without mindfulness. If one has mindfulness, there is no fault. Rinsing one's mouth and drinking water, and going to urinate and defecate, and bowing to the teacher within the boundary, there is no fault in those without asking. Other actions of an ascetic, all of those without exception, if one does them without asking the lama, then there is fault in that. After bowing to stupas, etc., one should not lie down.

From then on, wash the Guru's feet, to the Guru, the ascetic reports everything, after washing both feet, in the upper and lower parts of the night, strive not to sleep, so that one can speak the truth. With the intention of rising and appearing, do as the lion sleeps. Possessing mindfulness, the lineage of goodness, and likewise quickly awakening, do as taught. How afflictions are quickly exhausted, and supreme enlightenment is attained, strive and possess in that way. The Śrāmaṇera precepts of the Sarvāstivāda school, composed by the teacher Nāgārjuna, is complete. The Indian Abbot Munivarma and the reviser translator Snanam Yeshede translated, revised, and finalized it. The Noble Śrāmaṇera precepts of the Sarvāstivāda school. Nāgārjuna.
