It is only mind. Although things are false, appearing as things arises from the habit of clinging to the appearance of things, like the dreams of gamblers who are accustomed to gambling. These are merely temporary designations. Furthermore, there is not even a little bit of the object of the mind's grasping that arises outside of the mind. Then, having ascertained that these emptinesses of grasper and grasped, which are inexpressible, are only mind, completely abandoning all that is spoken by the mind, bind the mind closely to the fact that all phenomena are only mind. Make it unwavering, then gather it and generate calm abiding, until you attain extreme pliancy of body and mind. Relying on the attainment of extreme pliancy, repeatedly analyze the object of samadhi in various ways. All of these eighteen elements are without various natures, they are only mind, without grasper and grasped. Similarly, when repeatedly distinguishing, thoroughly distinguishing, completely understanding, and completely examining, when the body and mind are extremely pliant, that is insight. After that, the image of non-discrimination, and the stream of attention to that object of mind, both equal and without interruption, is the path of uniting calm abiding and insight. This is the second stage of how to focus on the instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom. Then, in the third stage, similarly generate the mind towards various and distinct appearances, and examine closely in this way: all of these eighteen elements are without various natures, they are only mind, empty of grasper and grasped. Furthermore, whatever appears as distinct names, called form, called sound, called smell, up to what is called all phenomena. Whatever appears as distinct things, such as appearing as aggregates, elements, and sources, up to appearing as all phenomena, all of these are the characteristics of phenomena, because they are the images of phenomena. All of these are the causes of delusion, the characteristics of proliferation, the causes of perversion.

It is a name because it is the object of delusion. Because the mind that appears there, etc., is disturbed by the aspect that is not true, that which is called all-pervading appearance, because it focuses on that appearance, is said to be focused on delusion. Therefore, as long as these appear, they are delusions, because seeing what is not the true meaning, one does not see the true meaning. Then, wanting to see the true meaning of all these dharmas, just like that, relying on calm abiding, one should completely abandon all the reasons for delusion, without paying attention to what appears manifestly. For example, if someone dwells alone in a secluded place and abides in meditation, transcending all perceptions of form, and abides in the notion that everything is like this, like the sky, and enters into infinite space, the Bodhisattva considers the various phenomena of the eighteen realms to be mind-only, and completely abandons all that is spoken by the mind, abandons all the reasons for delusion and conceptualization, and all the signs of grasping disappear, and strives in calm abiding. Until body and mind are completely subdued. Then, abiding in that calm abiding itself, one completely distinguishes that very object of samadhi as the emptiness of all dharmas. All these dharmas have and do not have, have form and are formless, are obstructive and unobstructed, have one characteristic, like this, they have no characteristic. Thus, one completely distinguishes, completely discriminates, and completely examines. When the mind and body are completely subdued, then insight is definitely accomplished. After that, that very non-conceptual object of samadhi is the image of the emptiness of all dharmas, and the continuum of mind that focuses on that object, without interruption or interval, is the path of the union of calm abiding and insight itself. This is the third stage of yoga. When these are completely accomplished, the effortless entry by the power of the previous meditation is spontaneously accomplished, without any effort, all dharmas are directly experienced as empty of their own nature, and manifest.
