When seeing the inner objects, Ema, how wonderful! Ema, how wonderful! Like the sky, without birth, yet appearing and abiding in various forms through the power of dependent origination, Ema, how amazing! One should understand it in the manner of the eight similes of illusion. Then, with the mind of great compassion, in order to teach the Dharma to all invisible beings, whatever thoughts arise, one should recite the Mahayana sutras. Then, at the time of eating, one should contemplate that this body, filled with thirty-six impure substances, without essence, and ultimately decaying, should be used to seek the essence of the Dharmakaya of the Buddha. One should not eat for the sake of filling the stomach, nor out of attachment to taste, but should eat with the thought of it being like a boat. One should also know the measure of food. As it is said in the Astangahrdayasamhita of Ayurveda: "One-third of the stomach should be filled with food, two parts with drink, and for the sake of the wind and other elements to abide, one part should be left empty." It is said. One should divide the food into four parts. The first part should be offered to the Three Jewels and the Lama. One part should be enjoyed by oneself. One part should be given to children and the helpless. One part should be given to animals such as dogs and crows. For those who wish to practice concisely, it is also mentioned elsewhere. Another method is as explained in the Lamp for Compendium of Practice. Then, in the morning session, one should do everything as described in the dawn session. The midday session, the evening session, the twilight session, and the midnight session, all the rituals as described before should be completed. Thus, for the yogi, there is no fixed time for sleep and rest, the Lamas say. Such a yogi, on the path of accumulation, a beginner who wishes to accumulate roots of virtue in accordance with the part of liberation, does not live in vain day and night, how could such a person have transgressions? If a transgression occurs due to the power of bad habits, one should quickly remedy it in this way: that is, dividing the six periods into eighteen parts, becoming fifty-four moments. Bodhisattvas are also divided into nine grades, superior, middling, and inferior.
