It should be done from there. Therefore, do not let the mind wander. If the mind wanders, then all things are the apprehended and the apprehender. The apprehended things are broken down by wisdom into extremely small particles. Even those particles, if separated, do not exist. The apprehender also does not exist independently of the apprehended, because it is the form in which the apprehended appears. Therefore, pacify the wandering in this way and abide in the higher state. If you find the mind displeased, you should remember the merits of samadhi and cultivate joy in it. You should think of the faults of wandering and pacify the displeasure. If you suspect dullness, sleep, or agitation, you should think of joyful things, such as the body of the Buddha or the twelve deeds, and pacify the dullness. If the mind is agitated or doubtful about past experiences, you should think that all conditioned things are impermanent, that you are impure, that others are quickly separated, and so on, and pacify the agitation, and maintain equanimity towards the higher state. If you become very tired of abiding in this way, you should get up from that state, without breaking the lotus position, but think like this: If all dharmas are unattainable in the ultimate truth, then in the conventional truth, the appearances of illusions and so on, which arise from causes and conditions, exist. After thinking in this way, break the lotus position, place the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions in front of you, and make a very pure seven-branch offering. According to this order, it should be done regularly in six periods. After that, the mind will become calm. When the mind is calm, decorate the pleasant place, make it very joyful, and increase the mind greatly through the six perfections. One should abide in the appearance of all actions as illusions and so on, without degenerating. These methods and faith exist, because they are slightly excerpted from the "Manjushri Root Tantra", and not copied from elsewhere. This is the heart essence of the Sugata, which, although unspeakable, is spoken for the benefit of oneself and others. May whatever small merit there is in this, make all beings become like the Sugata. The meaning of the Dharma is profound, and my wisdom is shallow, so even though it is very difficult to understand, it is made for the joy of those who are ignorant and of low intelligence. To this, may the wise be patient. If one does not cultivate non-discriminating wisdom, one cannot achieve Buddhahood through words. However, because of saving beings, please wise ones...
