When one is deluded, mundane objects such as color, shape, face, feet, hands, behavior, immeasurable attire, realms, beings, and various different modes of birth, are perceived as distinct. Beings, objects, gods, humans, and so on, are seen, heard, smelled, tasted, touched, and thought of, constantly approached and understood. When the eye of wisdom opens, and one is freed from the sleep of ignorance and its habitual tendencies, like awakening, the stainless wisdom of the Sugata arises, at that time, nothing is seen, because there is no grasping at the essence of phenomena. Furthermore, for example, at night, in the darkness where thick clouds obscure even the light of the stars, fear arises from all directions, and with a mind fabricating unreal appearances, one sees unreal beings, such as those with matted hair, glaring red and yellow eyes, stretching out long and rough fingers, making striking gestures, all of which are terrifying. When the sun rises, dispelling all darkness, and directions and intermediate directions become clearly visible, one is freed from fear and dread, and sees no unreal beings. Similarly, here, beings in the night of samsara, in the darkness where the darkness of ignorance obscures the light of knowledge, with minds disturbed by unreal appearances,

And luminosity, and non-appearance, and having shown the separation from elaboration, now it is also shown in this way by the scriptures. The master said: The eye that is free from cataracts, to the pure and stainless, like not seeing hair, flies, two moons, or the colors of a peacock's tail. The wise one who is free from the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge, to the stainless eye of true wisdom, likewise, nothing appears. For example, due to sleep or the power of sleep, seeing sons, women, immeasurable palaces, places, and so on, after waking up, one no longer sees them. Likewise, conventional consciousness, the eye of wisdom has opened, and after being separated from the sleep of ignorance, at the time of awakening, one no longer sees. For example, in the darkness of night, seeing non-real spirits, when the sun rises and the eyes open, they no longer appear. Likewise, when the wise one, with the sunlight of true wisdom, destroys all the habits of ignorance, the mind, mental factors, and objects are not seen. Thus, it is clearly proclaimed. Therefore, one should follow the noble Nagarjuna, who was prophesied in many sutras. Grasping at reality, possessed by demons, and sentient beings blinded by the sleep of ignorance, Aryadeva clearly explained the two truths to them. "Destroying the Errors of Madhyamaka," composed by the great master Aryadeva, is complete. Translated and revised by the Indian Abbot Dipamkara Shrijnana and the translator Bhikshu Tsultrim Gyalwa. It is said that the king of Jambudvipa, Sukhacharya, made a request at the great monastery of Nalanda and then composed it. "Destroying the Errors of Madhyamaka."
