How then should one understand 'now'? If in the world there is no production of seeds and so forth, then such a thing as the production of sprouts and so forth is also not seen. Therefore, the assertion that everything is like an illusion is also not established, this is a clear explanation. Anyone who, with subtle wisdom, knows that everything is only conceptualization, that wise person abandons attachment and so forth with ease, like being afraid of a snake. As previously stated, for this three realms that exist only in terms of conceptualization, anyone who has clear wisdom regarding coarse things like pots, and who with subtle wisdom ascertains that they are without substance and are merely nominal designations, is like someone who, having analyzed the particular fear arising from the knowledge that a rope is a snake and having ascertained that it is a rope, no longer fears the snake. Similarly, by thoroughly examining the objects that produce desire and so forth, one will also easily and quickly abandon the net of afflictions such as desire and so forth. Understanding the worldly truth, one should act like the world; desiring to abandon all afflictions, one should seek with the ultimate truth. Just as worldly people grasp things like pots as real, and apply names such as 'this is a pot,' 'this is wool,' 'this is a vehicle,' so too, one should apply names through previous practice. After that, those who wish to abandon afflictions such as desire should thoroughly seek all things with the characteristics of the ultimate truth as previously stated. Having thoroughly sought all things in this way, the net of afflictions such as desire will no longer arise. Thus, the yogi who fully knows the nature of things, by engaging in forms and so forth, quickly accomplishes the conduct of the Buddha and attains the result. The commentary called 'Differentiation of the Limbs,' written by the teacher Aryadeva, is completed. Indian Khenpo.
