What is there to say? Answer: From here to the other world, not even a mote of dust is transferred. However, only from the empty dharmas, merely empty dharmas arise. From the dharmas without self and belonging to self, that is, afflictions and karma, these five empty dharmas that are the cause, arise the dharmas without self and belonging to self, which are called suffering, the seven empty dharmas that are designated as the result. This is the gist of it. That is to say, there is no self or belonging to self in selflessness, nor are they mutually self or belonging to self. However, one should understand that from dharmas that are inherently without self, dharmas that are inherently without self arise. Here it is asked: What examples are there for the fact that only dharmas that are inherently without self arise from dharmas that are inherently without self? Here it is answered: Recitation, lamp, mirror, copper seal, flint, seed, sourness, and sound. Through these examples, one should also understand the selflessness of inherent existence and the accomplishment of the other world. For example, the words spoken from the mouth of the teacher are transferred to the student, but because the teacher cannot speak again, they are not transferred. The words spoken by the student are not from another, because it would become without cause. Just as the words spoken from the mouth of the teacher, so too is the mind at the time of death, because it would become the fault of permanence, it does not go to the other world. The other world also does not arise from another, because it would become the fault of being without cause. Just as it arises from the cause spoken by the teacher, one cannot say that the student is the same as the teacher, or that they are others, similarly, the mind belonging to birth that arises in dependence on the mind at the time of death is also the same, one cannot say that they are the same or different from that. Similarly, from a lamp, a lamp arises; from a face, the reflection of a mirror arises; from a copper seal, the embossed part of the seal arises; from flint, fire arises; from a seed, a sprout arises; from the cause of sour fruit, saliva increases; from sound, an echo arises, and it is not easy to know whether these are the same or different. Similarly, the connection of the aggregates should also be understood by the wise as not being transferred. Therein, the aggregates are: form, feeling, perception, and formation.

And, the aggregate of consciousness. The connection between them, called uninterruptedly, from that cause arises another result. No thing, not even the smallest particle, will go from this world to another world. Therefore, in the vortex of samsara, it is produced by the habit of wrong discrimination. The last word "also" is inverted, it should be understood as the opposite of this. If one realizes that all phenomena are impermanent, suffering, empty, and selfless, one will not be confused about things. Without confusion, there will be no attachment. Without attachment, there will be no hatred. Without hatred, there will be no karma. Without karma, one will not take things. Without taking, existence will not manifest. Without existence, there will be no birth. Without birth, there will be no suffering in body and mind. Therefore, here, because those five causes are not accumulated, the result will not arise elsewhere, this is called liberation. Therefore, evil views such as eternalism and annihilationism will be clarified. There are two verses here: For the extremely subtle things, if someone discriminates their annihilation, then the unskilled person cannot see the meaning of dependent origination. There is nothing to clarify in this, and there is nothing to establish. Look at the correct reality with the correct view, and if you can see it correctly, you can be liberated. The Essence of Dependent Origination, Commentary by Master Nagarjuna, is complete. The Essence of Dependent Origination, Commentary. Noble Nagarjuna.
