Chapter Nineteen: The Chapter on Honoring Stupas. Chapter Nineteen: The Chapter on Honoring Stupas. Then, the Bhagavan spoke to Indra, the lord of the gods, as follows: Kauśika! Any son or daughter of good family who holds and recites this profound Prajñāpāramitā... Kauśika, therefore, when that son or daughter of good family goes to battle, their body will not be struck or pierced by swords or arrows... In between, it is through diligently holding and reciting this Prajñāpāramitā, etc. Also, when going to battle, if one recites as much as possible from any part of this Prajñāpāramitā, they will be victorious over enemies and the benefit of not being harmed by weapons is shown. Kauśika, furthermore, if a son or daughter of good family holds and recites this profound Prajñāpāramitā... the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Samyaksaṃbuddhas, immeasurable and countless, of the ten directions who have thus appeared, also attained the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment by learning this very vidyā-mantra. In between, it is through practicing by holding and reciting this Prajñāpāramitā, etc., and focusing and relying on it as a mantra, if one wears it, even if others inflict various harms such as poison and weapons, the benefit of being invulnerable to all those harms is shown. Kauśika, furthermore, even if this Prajñāpāramitā is not held, not recited, not read and understood, not properly contemplated, in whatever house, village, town, or city where it is written and carried, humans or non-humans looking for an opportunity will not find an opportunity... Kauśika, therefore, whoever writes and carries this Prajñāpāramitā, they will also have those qualities and benefits of this life. In between, it means that even if one does not diligently read and listen to this Prajñāpāramitā, etc., merely writing it in a scripture and carrying it, humans and non-humans who seek opportunities to harm

Showing the benefit of not finding an opportunity. Kaushika, for example, the heart of the Bodhi tree or the surroundings of the heart of the Bodhi tree, and so on. Kaushika, why is that? Because this Prajnaparamita Sutra, this place is regarded as a stupa for all sentient beings, and is worshiped, prostrated, respected, offered, and honored with flowers, garlands, incense, oils, powders, clothes, umbrellas, and many banners, until the example of humans and non-humans not being able to find an opportunity is shown. The heart of the Bodhi tree, where the Buddhas of the three times manifest complete enlightenment, and where various activities are performed for the benefit of sentient beings, or the vicinity of that place, even up to the place where sentient beings in samsara belong to animals, cannot be harmed by humans or non-humans, etc. Similarly, in the house or town where this Prajnaparamita Sutra is written in a book and placed, humans and non-humans will not be able to find an opportunity, this is what is shown. Indra requested: "Bhagavan, a son or daughter of good family, if someone writes this Prajnaparamita Sutra and makes it into a book, and holds it, etc., until the all-knowing wisdom of the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened ones also arises from this." This shows that, compared to placing the relics of the Tathagata after his complete Nirvana in a seven-jeweled stupa, or placing them in a seven-jeweled vessel, and making offerings and reverence, writing, holding, reciting the Prajnaparamita Sutra, etc., and making efforts more diligently, the benefit of greater merit. Indra requested: "Bhagavan, the people of Jambudvipa, if they do not show reverence, respect, honor, or offerings to this Prajnaparamita Sutra, do those people not know that the offering to the Prajnaparamita Sutra has such great power? Until they manifest unsurpassed perfect enlightenment even faster than this."

Such aspirations are very rare. Therefore, in this Jambudvipa, those who worship and respect this Prajnaparamita, have great faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, are without deceit, and are very trusting, are few virtuous beings; those who do not worship and serve Prajnaparamita, do not believe in the Three Jewels, harbor doubts, and are untrusting, are many inferior beings, this is explained with reason. Among them, the so-called "three universal bonds" refer to the view of the aggregates, the adherence to precepts and vows, and doubt. Because these three afflictions do not liberate beings from samsara, but bind them in samsara, they are called "universal bonds." The five lower bonds are the view of the aggregates, adherence to precepts and vows, doubt, desire, and anger. The five higher bonds are desire for the form realm, desire for the formless realm, restlessness, pride, and ignorance. Kausika! From here, without being obscured by the Buddha's eye, in the eastern world systems as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, countless beings practice unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, but because they do not possess the skillful means of Prajnaparamita, only one or two of them will abide in the irreversible stage, while most will abide in the stages of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Kausika! From here, without being obscured by the Buddha's eye, in the upper world systems as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, countless beings practice unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, but because they do not possess the skillful means of Prajnaparamita, only one or two of them will abide in the irreversible stage, while most will abide in the stages of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Why is that? Kausika! Because unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is not for
