Explanation of the Activities of the Dharmakaya. Explanation of the Activities of the Dharmakaya. Furthermore, what are the activities of the Dharmakaya? They are the activity of pacifying beings, establishing them in the four means of attraction, realizing the complete purification of all defilements, benefiting sentient beings as they are, with meaning and the six perfections, the Buddha's path and intrinsic nature, emptiness and the cessation of duality, signlessness and objectlessness, fully ripening embodied beings, the path of the Bodhisattva and reversing attachment, attaining enlightenment and Buddhahood, purity and certainty, immeasurable benefit to sentient beings, qualities such as relying on the Buddha, the activities of the limbs of enlightenment, non-wastage and seeing the truth, and abandoning perversion, the way of that groundlessness, purification and accumulation, the difference between conditioned and unconditioned, not fully knowing the difference, establishing in Nirvana, these activities of the Buddha's body are considered to be twenty-seven kinds. Thus it is taught. Among them, the activity of pacifying beings is encompassed by the five realms. Why is it that the four hell beings are made the masters? Subhuti! From here, with the Buddha's eye, I gazed upon the world, and in the ten directions, in realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, Bodhisattvas, great beings, intentionally thought, and went to the great hells of sentient beings, and having moved from those places, they were born equal to gods and humans, and gradually saw the suffering of the three vehicles completely cease, and so on. In the birthplaces of animals in the realms of the ten directions, by abandoning oneself and so on, the activity of pacifying the birthplaces of animals. Likewise, in the realm of the pretas, whatever suffering there is, all of that is completely destroyed, and it is the activity of pacifying the suffering of Yama. In the desire realm, teaching the Dharma to the six classes of gods who enjoy desire, gradually entering into complete Nirvana in the order of the three vehicles, and teaching the Dharma to those who are attached to the view of Brahma, is the activity of pacifying the path of the gods.

Thus, Subhuti, I also, with the Buddha's eye, see from here that the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas gather people with the four objects of gathering, and up to the point of causing sentient beings to attain all-knowingness, this is the fruit of the noble Dharma. This is extensively spoken of, and this is the activity of pacifying human beings. If the Bodhisattva also causes sentient beings to attain all-knowingness, then there would be no difference between the Buddha and the Bodhisattva. However, by showing that the two are one, it is answered that there is no difference between what has been done and what has not been done. The placement of the four objects of gathering is that by means of generosity, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with the Dharma, and by following emptiness and so on, sentient beings in the ten directions of the world are shown to be a wondrous and amazing Dharma nature. Placing in defilement and purification, Subhuti, again, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva teaches and instructs other Bodhisattvas in this way, and being skilled in the dharani that accomplishes letters, asks questions, answers extensively, and with the example of the Tathagata's emanation, all dharmas abide in the nature of not being bound and not being liberated, and all noble beings are without flaws, and there is no transcendence of the Dharmadhatu, Suchness, or the ultimate reality. Thus, it is said to be irreversible. If the Dharmadhatu and so on are without transcendence, what do you think? Is the Dharmadhatu different from form, or is form different from the Dharmadhatu? When asked if all dharmas are not different from the Dharmadhatu, and he means that they are not different, then it follows that form and so on are also without reversal, so the meaning of showing the nature of defilement and purification, Subhuti, is that the conventional truth is taken as the measure, and the establishment of that and the establishment of the fruit are all conventional.
