An Explanation of the Path of the Solitary Realizer An Explanation of the Path of the Solitary Realizer Having explained the path of the Hearer, the path of the Solitary Realizer will be discussed. In this regard, briefly, in order to realize the self-arisen nature, even if taught by others, it is not necessary, and the wisdom like that of a rhinoceros horn is manifestly profound. This is the meaning of the Solitary Realizer. The meaning of not needing to be taught by others is that whatever is done freely on the path of the Solitary Realizer, such as the language of yakshas, is knowable. However, the meaning explained by the venerable Subhuti is unknowable, as shown. Among them, the yakshas make their own language known, which is the language of the yakshas. The general is the word, meaning that the complete meaning that one wishes to express with a certain number is the language, meaning speech. Saying the answer to what and what question is asked by others is speaking. Such things are knowable, but the explanation, speech, display, differentiation, clarification, and determination of the Prajnaparamita by the noble venerable Subhuti are unknowable. Among them, showing after praying is explaining. Answering when asked is speaking. These two, acting freely on the ignorance of those to be tamed, explaining is showing. Acting freely on the careless, especially showing and acting is differentiating, and it is also like this, starting from the words that even a single letter is not spoken by the sons of the gods, because teaching and listening are prevented, the Prajnaparamita and the perfect enlightenment are without letters, using metaphors such as snake movement, dreams, sounds, and illusions, showing that there is no letter, no hearing, and no knowing. If asked how there is no teaching of the Dharma and no words, it is because it is the cause of obtaining the fruit of teaching the Dharma, and also because the words of teaching the Dharma become a great distraction, and because distraction also causes a great disturbance in the continuum, therefore, with this intention, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, when he was a Bodhisattva in the past, thought, "In this way, I shall become a Buddha."

Now that I have obtained the wish-fulfilling jewel, may I be able to teach the Dharma even without speaking, and may I be able to perfectly accomplish the deeds for the benefit of sentient beings. In order to show that it is possible to teach the Dharma even without speaking. Whatever, whatever meaning, in whatever way one listens to it, even though there is no sound in it, there is meaning, and it appears as it is. Thus it is taught. This is profound wisdom. Thus it is said in the Sutra: O, abiding one, this is the one who makes it clear, who shows what is even more profound than the profound, and who enters into what is even more subtle than the subtle. Thus it is said. In this, the meaning of what is shown by the abiding Rabjor cannot be known and is profound, but it is obtained without uttering a single letter, so it is very profound. It is also said in other Sutras that by realizing the path of the ten virtuous actions by oneself, and by understanding the profound dependent arising, one can perfect the vehicle of the solitary realizer. Because one aims at the benefit of oneself alone, and one becomes a Buddha oneself, one is a solitary realizer. It is also not falling into the Hearer's Vehicle, because it does not rely on the teachings of others. If it is said that one will become a perfectly enlightened Buddha, it is not so, because he benefits sentient beings with all-knowingness, so he is more excellent than them. The solitary realizers, to the extent that they realize, they themselves realize enlightenment. Furthermore, what is the extent of their realization? It is said: Because the realization of what is grasped is diminished, and because the grasper is not abandoned, like the path of relying on a rhinoceros horn, one should know that it has been truly gathered. Thus it is taught. Why? Because they are mainly aware of the appearance of what is grasped, from the aggregates, elements, and sources, up to all-knowingness, they widely prevent the nature from being profound and subtle, so it is said that the Buddha has abandoned one aspect of the obscuration of knowledge, so it is implied that they are more excellent than the Hearers. This is not the teaching of the Dharma of speech, so it is a solitary realizer.
