etc. are empty. Because all emptinesses are without distinction, therefore it is taught as warmth. As it is said in the sutra: Kauśika, form is empty of form. Likewise, feeling, etc., whatever is the emptiness of form, and feeling, etc., are not two, and cannot be made into two. Thus, it is said, etc. Because those are not perceived, they are considered to be the ultimate peak. The sutra that teaches this is as follows: Kauśika, in this, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should not abide in form in a way that does not perceive. Likewise, in feeling, etc., he should not abide, as it is said. In this, because abiding is prevented by means of permanence, etc., all patiences. As it is said, as it is said in the sutra: One should not abide in form as permanent, or as impermanent. Pleasure, or suffering. Self, or no-self. Peace, or non-peace. Empty, or not empty. Having signs, or not having signs. Having aspirations, or not having aspirations, one should not abide in a way that does not perceive, as it is said, etc. Starting from the ten grounds, by extensively teaching non-abiding, it is said to transform into the supreme of Dharma. What is taught in this way is the path of the noble Hearers, as it is said in the sutra: A Bodhisattva Mahasattva should not abide in a way that focuses on the first ground, and even in my Buddha-field, may there not be even the sound of the Buddha, in this way, one should not abide in a way that focuses, as it is extensively said. Why? Because the Buddhas, having known, do not see all phenomena. The sutra that teaches this is as follows: Thus, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, having manifestly awakened to the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment, even though he has become a Buddha, it is because all phenomena are not perceived, as it is said, etc., starting from those. This is called being connected with discrimination, therefore it is the path of the Hearers. The Bodhisattva is the way of not perceiving in everything. The path of
