The practice of Wrathful and Joyful Jambhala. The practice of Wrathful and Joyful Jambhala. In Sanskrit: Ucchushma Jambhala Sadhanam. In Tibetan: The practice of Wrathful and Joyful Jambhala. Homage to glorious Jambhala! With the virtue of the Youth of the Able One, the Lord of Sages, adorned in immeasurable ways with supreme perfection. Whose feet are revered by the fierce three-eyed one, with the ornament of the crest jewel. The supreme qualities, the non-dual, the guide of the precious merchant assembly, for the sake of the vast attainment of one's own perfection and all beings, I rely upon. Here, first, having temporarily obtained the sequence of the practice of glorious Jambhala and so forth, at that time, I shall also place beings in the state of perfection in this life and the next, with this thought, within the heart, the letter A, unborn and without subsequent vowels, radiating white light, and from that arising a lunar mandala, upon which the syllable HUM, black in the center, the outer surroundings slightly yellow, a mass of light radiating upon the crown of the head. From that arising a vajra, four points below, five points above joined, thus nine points, is the pure form of the nine sections of scripture. From elsewhere, making one point above and below, thus the central point and nine points. Like the syllable HUM, color and action, within Brahma, abiding on the moon, contemplate the HUM that is the same as that. Then, from the syllable HUM and the vajra, light radiates, preceded by reciting the mantra OM AH, the immeasurable body of Jambhala, who benefits sentient beings in the ten directions, like a lamp arising from a lamp, invite to the front with light, contemplate that body as one, offer with the five sensual offerings, from confessing sins and so forth, to contemplating the immeasurable, after that, again contemplate all the light rays of the HUM and the vajra within the body, free from all elaborations, in the nature of emptiness itself, upon the light rays of the moon and the vajra seed, bless with this OM AH, invite, and then the Bhagavan should be placed within. After the placement is complete, in an instant the moon and so forth are perfected, and oneself is the Bhagavan.

Das Jambhala, like a five-year-old youth, stands upon various lotuses and moons, short in stature and adorned with all ornaments, possessing a jeweled crown. He is vomiting jewels from his mouth. His right foot presses down upon the navel of a yellow Jambhala lying supine. His left foot presses upon both legs, with the left leg extended. He stands naked upon a lotus seat. His belly hangs down. With his right hand at his heart, he holds a skull cup filled with blood, gazing directly into it. With his left hand resting on his left thigh, he holds a mongoose vomiting a stream of jewels, its mouth pointing downwards. He is small, with unpierced ears. His face is like a half-moon. He grits his teeth. His eyes are round and red. His brow is furrowed in a frown. His hair is reddish-yellow, standing on end. His head is adorned with a blue Akshobhya Buddha performing the earth-touching mudra. His hair is bound with a pleasing blue like the Tamala flower. Red ornaments adorn his ears. A great lotus, white like the root of a lotus, serves as his necklace. He holds an endless knot of smoke color as an offering. A white Vasudhara serves as his belt. Anklets are made of lotuses, exceedingly beautiful like the Kunda flower. Yellow conch-shell guardians serve as his bracelets. A variegated Rigden, like a rainbow, adorns his head. Contemplate his color as black, with a slightly yellow outer aura, radiating a mass of light. Within the ten lunar mandalas residing in his forehead, face, right and left shoulders, heart, above the vajra, right and left thighs, and right and left feet, visualize the letters of ཨོཾ་ཛཾ་བྷ་ལ་ཛ་ལེནྡྲ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ། (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning: Om Jambhala Jalandharaye Svaha) as yellow, emitting yellow rays of light. At that time, as you exhale through your nostrils, visualize the rays of light emanating from the letter ཧཱུཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning: Hum) and others, and from the ཧཱུཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning: Hum) at your heart and the vajra, radiating in all directions, and merely by touching them, contemplate all sentient beings as the form of the Bhagavan. Again, as you inhale, contemplate the ཧཱུཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning: Hum) letter completely entering, thereby stabilizing your mind and reciting the mantra. Place all the various jewels existing in the three realms into the mouths of the nagas, rakshasis, and Jambhalas. Again, as you exhale, contemplate the jewels swallowed by the nagas and others.
