Like a jewel in the ocean, with five locks of hair gathered up. Situated closely in the vajra posture on an eight-petaled white lotus and the moon. Meditate on oneself as the embodiment of the wisdom of all the Tathagatas, in the form of Manjushri. Thus, the yogi, with the pride of a samaya-being hero, in his own heart, a white eight-spoked wheel perfected from (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A), radiating a mass of light. To destroy all ignorance, contemplate on the right side in a rapidly rotating sequence. Above that, without touching, from the first vowel arises a lunar mandala. Above that, the five letters in order, like flames blazing, accompanied by rays of light, eliminating all ignorance, should be meditated upon through the guru's instructions. When the deity's form is complete, recite praises and so forth without weariness, with joy. Alternatively, in the center of the moon in the heart, from the form of a white (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: A) arises what is called Arapacana, white, adorned with all ornaments, joyful and single-pointedly abiding in meditation. Situated closely in the vajra posture, the right and left hands holding a sword and a book respectively. Possessing five locks of hair, like an Indranila jewel, gathering all essence. A face like a radiant moon. Meditate on the supreme speaker, along with his seed syllable, in the heart on the moon. In front of that, from the white (Tibetan: ར, Devanagari: र, Romanized Sanskrit: ra, Literal meaning: Ra) arises the light of the Net Mother, the venerable Arapacana, with similar color and hands, etc. Contemplate in one's own heart the moon with its own seed syllable. After that, in the back, from the white (Tibetan: པ, Devanagari: प, Romanized Sanskrit: pa, Literal meaning: Pa) arises the light of the Moon Mother, visualize the moon in the heart with the seed syllable. Then, on the right, from the white (Tibetan: ཙ, Devanagari: च, Romanized Sanskrit: ca, Literal meaning: Tsa) arises the Hair Mother, white, adorned with all ornaments, with full flesh and pendulous breasts, contemplate her on the moon in one's own heart, possessing the seed syllable. In the north, from the white (Tibetan: ན, Devanagari: न, Romanized Sanskrit: na, Literal meaning: Na) arises the Near Hair Mother. Meditate that the moon in one's own heart is perfectly endowed with the seed syllable, and contemplate all as Arapacana. By radiating and gathering light from the seed syllable in the heart, destroy the assembly of ignorance of beings.

Now, by means of the complete teachings and treatises of nectar-like Dharma, and the various fields of craftsmanship, may all sentient beings be satisfied, rejoicing again and again. Meditate on the unobstructed nature of the body through the oral instructions of the guru. In equipoise, the mantra practitioner should recite. Om is first. The five seed syllables in the center, the seed syllable of the Samaya-sattva at the end. Whichever one possesses this mind, recite one's own mantra according to the guru's oral instructions, and after that, recite the hundred-syllable mantra: Om Vajrasattva samaya, manupalaya, Vajrasattva tvenopatistha, dridho me bhava, Sutoshyo me bhava, Suposhyo me bhava, Anurakto me bhava, Sarva siddhi mem prayaccha, Sarva karma suca me, Cittam shriyam kuru hum, Ha ha ha ha hoh, Bhagavan sarva tathagata, Vajra ma me munca, Vajri bhava, Maha samaya sattva ah. After reciting this hundred-syllable mantra, complete the gathering and scattering, etc. With the form of the Samaya-sattva, the yogi should abide in all activities, whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, even when not in meditative equipoise. Thus, if one perfects the ocean of true wisdom, one will attain unsurpassed enlightenment without delay. Clearly, in prose style, this white practice method is written. May the merit of Padmasambhava liberate all from samsara. The prose-style Arapacana practice method, composed by Master Padmasambhava, is complete. Translated by the Pandit Amoghavajra and the Khampa translator Bari.
