Then, having performed the fire offering according to the previously described ritual, bind them with ropes and move them with the wheel of the bull king, etc. Then place the vase in a secluded place and offer it properly with flowers, etc. Whatever stupas, etc., are made of stone, whether they are completed or damaged, should be placed in a river with plenty of water. Whatever stupas, etc., are made of earth and cannot be dismantled, should be left in that very place. Whatever is old and damaged, made of wood, should be soaked in butter, wrapped in cloth, and burned with the fire of the fire offering. Whatever is made of copper, etc., should be melted down and made no less than its original size. After these stupas, etc., are completed, with offerings such as water offerings preceding them, the wisdom being of the nature of the nectar of wisdom, which was previously placed in the vase, should be taken out and placed in the samaya being of the stupas, etc., and empowered with the water of the vase. Then, bless them one hundred and eight times with their respective mantras, and also perform the fire offering and consecration in the order previously described. This is the ritual for removing old objects. The Sanskrit text of the ritual for consecrating umbrellas, etc., and removing old objects was found in the region of Gnyal. As the incomparable Dharma Lord Rinpoche, the Fourth Red Hat Holder, made this a supreme treasure for the precious teachings, he commanded it to be translated, and thus the Shalu translator, the monk Chokyong Zangpo, translated it at the glorious Ne'u Dongtse. The ritual for consecrating umbrellas, etc., and removing old objects.
